Summary

25th July 2010 5:00 PM EST WikiLeaks has released a document set called the Afghan War Diary (AWD), an extraordinary compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.

The reports, while written by soldiers and intelligence officers mainly describing lethal military actions involving the United States military, also include intelligence information, reports of meetings with political figures, and related detail.

The document collection is available on a dedicated webpage.

The reports cover most units from the US Army with the exception of most US Special Forces' activities. The reports do not generally cover top-secret operations or European and other ISAF Forces operations.

We have delayed the release of some 15,000 reports from the total archive as part of a harm minimization process demanded by our source. After further review, these reports will be released, with occasional redactions, and eventually, in full, as the security situation in Afghanistan permits.

To decompress the files you need 7zip. A free client for Windows can be downloaded here. Please use your favorite search engine to find clients for other operating systems.

The data is provided in HTML, CSV and SQL formats, and also was rendered into KML mapping data that can be used with Google Earth. Please note that the checksums will change.

Some notes about the data formats

  • HTML: This is a complete dump of the website. Extract this to your local hard disk and open it with your web browser. Please check the project website http://wardiary.wikileaks.org for the most recent version of the website.
  • KML: The various KML files can be viewed with Google Earth.
  * afg-war-diary.7z: This archive contains all events in one KML file. This file needs much memory if opened with Google Earth.
* afg-war-diary-nato.7z: Contains the events that were tagged with NATO.
* afg-war-diary_by-month.7z: This archive provides the entries split by month. This makes it easier to browse the data in Google Earth on low power machines.
* afg-war-diary_scale1dot5.7z: The number of incidents maps (0.5 base score then 0.1 was added for each incident involving humans) to the scale of the event in Google Earth. This set of data provides only events that have a scaling of 1.5.
  • CSV/SQL: Those two data formats provide the raw data for further processing.

Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks.

A couple of great quotes courtesy of my friend JoeR

"As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks." -- Thomas Jefferson

"It amazes me that a Christian will go to war as a duty to his country without understanding the REASONS for the war, and he will put bullets into an enemy….But he will quote Romans instead of putting those bullets into the traitorous politicians that are causing the war" - Joe Rospapa (Philosopher, Entrepreneur, Father, Husband, a man with no guile, a Living legend of a Real Man)

This IS Kansas, Dorothy … better grab Toto, the wicked weather-witch this way comes

By Phasma Scriptor

United Airlines flight 967, enroute from Washington DC to LA, hit extreme weather over Kansas on Wednesday. The turbulence caused what was described as an "up and down", i.e., a severe updraft, followed immediately by a severe downdraft; 26 passengers and 4 of the crew were injured, forcing the pilot to make an unscheduled stop in Denver, UAL’s base field, where local EMA teams were waiting.

Turbulence is, of course, not unusual, but the jolt, in this case unexpected, can provoke reactions ranging from freak-out to catching a bad case of aerophobia. The United Air pilot, having racked up thousands of hours of flying (required for UAL), has endured many such disturbances of the force; however, he said this one stands out as #1, that is, in the scheme of things turbulent, he'd just been through an anomaly. Downdrafts (fka "air pockets") are typically caused by cold air rushing downward. A rapid updraft/downdraft doesn't appear in any of the e-sources, consistent w/the veteran pilot's comment.

When I want to see the weather forecast, I watch the Weather Channel’s Local on the 8s; featured at the end of each such forecast are satellite images of the US which clearly show the severity, shape, size, movement & location of systems as they swirl across the US. They also let you see radical anomalies in weather patterns, of which TWC meteorologists have, in the past, made mention. There may have been such comments about this system; however, since I don’t watch TWC endlessly (although some of you might think I have no life and, therefore, have time to watch TWC endlessly).

The area over which UAL 967 got hit with an anomalous downdraft was within the effective range of a severe weather system, that is, the plane was close enough to experience turbulence. That system, viewed on TWC satellite image, was loaded w/the reds, oranges and yellows indicative of severe weather. Previously, that system had undergone a period in which the number of lightning strikes appeared to be unusually high. When I saw the concentration of strikes, there didn't seem to be anything really extraordinary. With the reports of this "up and down" turbulence anomaly, maybe there's a there after all.

The weather pattern developing in Kansas had no swirl. The jet stream had an unusual nearly straight vector from the Plains States across Chicago, dipping slightly over Lake Michigan and, then, heading in an ENE direction through the Northeastern Corridor (see Baked Apple post about the weather bomb that hit its target, causing the recent NEC heat wave with record highs).

Weather systems on the ground don’t follow the jetstream exactly although the weather is influenced by the jetstream, e.g., the jetstream doesn’t straighten out the Coriolis effect (the counter-clockwise motion of the swirl in low-pressure weather systems - the ones that make trouble - in the Northern Hemisphere). So, the system in which UAL 967 was violently pushed up and then down wasn’t your normal swirling system (call it UD).

UD started out from New Mexico, the location of the Area 51 facility, a fairly normal circumstance during the summer, as the Southwest heat moves with the normal prevailing winds in a Northeasterly direction. After making the passengers and crew on UAL 967 collectively lose their cheap inflight meal and several hundred years of life, on Thursday, UD moved further North from a path that appeared to be aimed directly at Chicago, washing out the forecast for scattered thunderstorms over Chicago (out of range of the land-based weather modification facilities, the movement and bad behavior of UD may have been due to military planes flying out of Offutt AFB in Nebraska, utilizing either facilities there, previously unknown to me, or redirecting electrostatic energy from another land-based source). Instead, still running in a straight line, UD shifted over Nebraska and then crossed into Iowa, continuing in its path over the Illinois-Wisconsin border which it followed with discipline across the length of that border until it moved over the Lake.

When UD reached the Lake, what had been a narrow, unswirling system, appearing to be less than 25 miles wide, explosively and anomalously expanded as it crossed the Lake. Unlike an Atlantic tropical depression, there isn’t any warm water in Lake Michigan to supercharge a system into a much bigger system. As UD began to emerge from passing over the Lake, its width appeared to be nearly the entire length of the Lake, North to South. Although there’s nothing that TWC could show that would enable anyone to see whether UD had been artificially pumped with electrostatic energy, the explosive expansion suggests that’s what occurred, courtesy of the Fermilab/Argonne facility (see, e.g., Baked Apple, ibid).

UD is now headed for the NEC. Forecasts for Saturday have temperatures ranging from the mid-80s in Boston to the low triple-digits for DC. As it moves East, from the State of Michigan, UD has already taken a slight right turn, effectively a course correction, which positions UD for a strike into the heart of the NEC. The current NEC forecasts are probably taking UD into account; however, there are other factors which may exacerbate temps and the humidity back into record territory with THI definitely headed even higher if other weather systems are pushed into the NEC.

While UD appears to bear down on an already sweltering NEC, threatening its extremely weak infrastructure, there’s a nasty mean potentially working in concert with the while. One, a very tight high pressure system (high-pressure systems rotate clockwise) in the Huntsville/Oak-Ridge facility is pumping hot, moist air from the Gulf in the direction of the NEC, appearing to be influenced by the air currents flowing out of the Atlantic ahead of the tropical depression of the week. Two, if the Norfolk facility pushes more hot, humid air from the Mid-Atlantic Coast toward the NEC juiced with electrostatic energy, there may be a collision of these two auxiliary weather missiles with the potentially ballistic UD.

The infrastructure of the NEC is up against it. The Rothschilds, looking for payback from the carpet bombing of their Euro facilities by Rockefeller-directed Allied bombers during WWII, could push the NEC way, way up the wall this summer.

Portable power generators are going to be very hot items (sorry) should the very thinkable happen.

This is Your Brain on Religion...

Religious violence in Nigeria kills eight Christians and burns a church. Earlier in the week the Christians killed Muslims and burned a mosque. It's very obvious the "revealed" religions have nothing to offer us!

Dean of Jerry Falwell's Liberty University dismissed for lying about being an Islamic jihadist until Jesus saved him!

Any idea that can't stand open debate or jokes made about it is not a sound idea. An Islamic clergyman made this point when he said an American woman who drew cartoons of Mohammed "should be taken as a prime target of assassination."

Glenn Beck shows his ignorance again! He is a convert to Mormonism, which most evangelical Christians see as a cult. In a speech he made to 5,000 people when his travelling show, "American Revival", hit Salt Lake City, Utah, the center of Mormonism, he claimed that America is guilty of "collective salvation" which he says is an ungodly liberal goal of forcibly taking wealth from people and giving it to the needy. If he was familiar with his own Bible he would note that this is what was practiced by the early Christians. And if you didn't comply, the Christian Bible god would kill you!

Who is a Jew? A bill in the Israeli Knesset would give Jewish Orthodox rabbis more control over conversions to Judaism. Israel does not have a constitution even though it claims it's a democracy, so matters like this are still alive and well.

Get the demons out of the trees! Why not? The Bible claims Jesus sent demons into pigs!

Charges dropped against eight men involved in an exorcism at a Lutheran camp in Australia. In exchange for the charges being dropped, the men agreed to restraining orders to keep them away from the child who was the target of the exorcism!

Here's an interesting column about the Vatican, child molesting priests and women as priests.

The Catholic Church in Wisconsin defends a priest who was following boys into public bathrooms and who had child pornography.

The number of men willing to become Catholic priests is very low. In Scranton, PA there were no new priests this year. Unfortunately, the local parish is advertising and working to attract more men into becoming priests.

The U.S. Supreme Court deals a defeat to the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican wanted to protect itself financially from its sex crimes against children by claiming "sovereign immunity". However, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. Unfortunately, a lower court could still rule in the favor of the Catholic Church, thus putting more innocent children at risk of being sexually attacked by the clergy.

A four year old boy in Russia dies from the superstition of exorcism. This time it wasn't a Christian exorcism. The world and the world's children desperately need Deism!

Kick Me!

By Phasma Scriptor

Remember making those silly signs that said, "Kick me" which you'd apply w/tape to the ass of an unwitting classmate. That's what the dumshitteabaggers are doing to themselves by taking the side the corporatist aristocrats v. Obama on the ground he's a Socialist/Fascist/commie/
pinko. No DST has the foggiest what it's promoting, namely, a continuation of the aristocrats getting richer while the DSTs get poorer ... w/a "Kick me" plea self-attached to their brains. Yeah, I DO mean their asses.

According to Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor during the Clinton Administration, in his monograph “The Root of Economic Fragility and Political Anger”, he uses a breakdown of the breakdown of the payscale of ordinary Americans to show that hourly wages have been dropping, adjusted for inflation, which, at this juncture, doesn’t exist. The annualized rate of shrinkage is 4.5%. Since these kinds of figures aren’t typically posted anywhere, even if wage-earners didn’t exactly know this fact, they’ve come to notice that their paychecks buy less than they did.

On Easy Street (commonly referred to as Wall Street), things aren’t nearly so depressing. Hiring is surging as are the outsized salaries. Compensation for this upper echelon of executives (not even taking into consideration the top tier of CEOs) has recently been bid up past the sweet-side of $1 million, a continuation, according to Reich, of an “ominous trend” - the one where the rocket for the obscenely compensated takes off, whereas the lower-class, fka the middle-class, runs in the same direction as a soap-box racer - strictly downhill, with the only silver lining being that getting to the bottom means you can’t get any lower.

In an inflationary scheme, the borrowing-against-home-equity gambit works since the market value for homes keeps rising; deflation, not so much by a 180, and deflation is what we have now and will have for quite a while (see post on deflation/derivatives). In 2008, the so-called debt bubble went the way of all bubbles. Why this isn’t foreseen is curious since everyone, everyone, everywhere has blown bubbles and watched them pop … without fail. Maybe, it’s just knowing that there’s lots of bubbles per bottle of bubble soap. But, the consequence of an economic bubble vs. a mere soap bubble is the reason why paying attention to the former needs to be as certain as the latter is doomed with inevitability.

Reich provides a simple comparison between the compensation of the wealthy in America in 1928, the year preceding the so-called Great Depression, and 2007, the year preceding the so-called Great Recession. In 1928, the top 1 percent in this country raked in 23.9% of the total income, leaving us serfs w/76%. Put it a different way, .239/1=.239, whereas .76/99=.00768, meaning, that top-shelf 1% was reeling it in at over 31 times the average low-Joe’s shot at goin’ fishin’. The next year, as noted, was the Great Depression, the 1st major funk into which the Federal Reserve tanked the US economy. In 2007, same song, next verse, singing “I have seen the fateful lightning of the Federal Reserve’s swift sword, Chairman Ben tramples out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored … ” OK, they’re not soaring lyrics, but, 2007 (you know what happened in 2008) saw the trample-down of the serf-class again to the point where the ever-heavily-favored 1% were staked to 23.5% of the kitty, leaving 76.5% to … “Chairman Ben” meet the “grapes of wrath” and bunch of guys with one fish.

The first Feudal regime in Britain set the entrance, stage left, for Robin and his Merry Socialists; more on this in the future. The Feudal regime of the Federal Reserve and more to the point, of the moguls of derivatives, Goldman Sachs, et al., the mockers to whom the DSTs have stuck engraved invitations to their brains to please “kick me” again, just like they did last 2008, and 1929, and …

The result will certainly be a return to that Golden Age of Feudalism when the nobility, that small prick of a percentage of the well-to-do (and doing weller faster), able to afford castles by sucking up so much of what the serfs produced that the purchasing power of the serfs was just about literally at the level of the dirt they lived on. Ensuring that whatever equity the lower-class, fka the middle-class, might have in their homes was also vacuumed up by the nobility, the Easy Street boys lured the lower-class, fka the middle-class, into the Easy Money Trap, borrowing against the market value of their homes. As Reich put it, “When the debt bubble finally burst, vast numbers of people couldn’t pay their bills, and banks couldn’t collect.”

In a perfect world, “grapes of wrath” would fight back instead of always being the low-hanging fruit that gets financially trampled. In our imperfect world (and growing imperfect-er), the dumshitteabaggers have hung those masochistic “kick me” signs on their backs. When that happens (and, with so many apparent DSTs asking for it), we’re all gonna get kicked in the collective serf-class ass.

Learn how to camouflage yourself from facial recognition technology

From http://social.venturebeat.com/2010/07/02/facial-recognition-camouflage/

The day when you’ll be able to hold up your phone and identify a stranger through a viewfinder is getting closer.

Google’s Goggles, a mobile app for visual search, has a facial recognition version unreleased to the public, while Israeli startup Face.com’s technology can tag people’s faces in Facebook photos. Facebook even released a basic version of face detection last night, although it doesn’t have recognition.

So in a world where technology chips away at our ability to remain anonymous, how does one reclaim some semblance of control?

It turns out there’s actually a pretty simple way around the facial recognition technology available in the market today, according to Adam Harvey, a graduate student at NYU’s ITP (the same program that produced Foursquare chief executive Dennis Crowley and that Twitter’s location guru Raffi Krikorian taught at).

If you change the contrast in certain parts of your face — either through a watermark or by wearing a strategically-placed sticker or facepaint, recognition technology can’t identify that your face is a human face.

“It breaks apart the gestalt of the face,” he said. “That’s what original camouflage was supposed to do.”

Harvey said he got his idea from studying camouflage methods use during World War I and World War II. His project, CV Dazzle, is based on the original dazzle camouflage used by the military to hide ships in the 1940s.

While the flashy geometric patterns don’t seem like they would be able obscure a thing, they thwarted the enemy’s ability to tell the make or size of the ship. Similarly, zebra camouflage does little to blend the animal into the background of the savannah. But when zebras are in herds, predators like lions have difficulty picking out animals from the herd. (Dazzle camouflage was eventually phased out by the military as aviation technology and rangefinders improved.)

Harvey says there a couple of projects that could stem from idea. He could either build a basic watermarking technology that could render faces unidentifiable to these programs while still being recognizable to humans. Or he could work with make-up artists and designers to create interesting real-world looks that prevent facial recognition.

“Putting paint on your face isn’t always practical,” he said. “This is just the way that I wanted to test this. But if you wanted to be covert, you could try wearing different styles of make-up or accessories. You could position a Band-aid on the right spot on your face. The power of this idea is that people can interpret it in their own way.”

You can see face-detection evading makeup below. The examples that have red squares around them were identified. But the ones that don’t have squares passed facial recognition software undetected.

It seems like a pretty far-off idea given that if Facebook ever did release full-fledged facial recognition, it would never be completely automated. Humans would most likely have final say to tag or untag themselves. It’s also unclear how Google could ever release a facial recognition Google Goggles, given the privacy concerns it is already facing from European governments and consumers alike.

But if an augmented reality app that automatically identified people from your phone ever emerged, perhaps we could see a fad of facial camouflage.

Making Amends: A Mini-Manifesto

This comes from a tip by Bill St. Clair at http://billstclair.com/blog/ thanks again Bill for your surfing of very relevant sites.

Porretto has seen the future and we are now in it. Please read his mini-manifesto in entirety.

Making Amends: A Mini-Manifesto

Francis W. Porretto's Eternity Road - about the necessary actions when the corrupt-beyond-repair US government and economy collapse.

Quote:
"We will never, ever, put an end to the dreams and machinations of the power-seekers unless we punish those among us with proper severity. Among our current officials are several overt traitors: men who took oaths to defend the Constitution, and have done the exact opposite. Of these, I count one president, four Supreme Court Justices, and hundreds of federal legislators. Unless these are dragged from their hidey-holes as was Saddam Hussein, and executed or incarcerated for life, there will be no respite from the pressure of closet totalitarians and social engineers against our polity. Men to whom power over others is the ultimate satisfaction will seek it relentlessly, until the price for doing so becomes both ultimate and inevitable."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fran here. This will be in first-person, as I have some hard things to say. Forgive me, Gentle Reader, but I don't think you'll like them much.
One caveat: When I use the pronoun we in what follows, I don't necessarily mean all of us alive today. I'm using we in its political application: to the polity we call today the United States, to the polity and society it has been in the century past, and to whatever emerges from the chaos I foresee.
Please read carefully, and with attention.
***
"When a man dies, he does not just die of the disease that he has; he dies of his whole life." -- Peguy
We stand, God willing, at the end of the Progressive Era in American politics and political thought. One way or another, the edifice will shortly come crashing down. The only questions that remain are whether a recognizable United States of America will rise from the rubble.
Many Americans, however, will not. That's guaranteed.
Our current political order does not resemble our Constitutional basis in any way. Every stricture of the Constitution has been abrogated. Most states treat their own constitutions as palimpsests, from which any clause may be deleted and to which any permission might be added, entirely at the will of the rulers. As for county and municipal charters...do I really need to go on?
The prevailing order compounds Corporatism[1] with Social-Welfare Fascism.[2] Under such a scheme, persons will flow steadily away from the "economic means"[3] and toward the "political means,"[4] in obedience to the established incentives. As the current state of affairs has obtained for nearly a century, a terrifying number of Americans and pseudo-Americans have made themselves utterly dependent on the State for their sustenance. They own no means of support -- no skills by which they could create value for others.
The key phrase in the paragraph above is "made themselves." Reflect on it.
When -- not "if" -- the Corporate Social-Fascist State exhales its bloody final breath, the economy that results will not have provisions for those dependents' support. As they will be unable to support themselves, their continued existence will depend wholly upon the kindness of others. But, given the immense damage that's been done to our economic foundations by Progressive policies, the crash is overwhelmingly likely to be massive. Many of us who can support ourselves on our own abilities will be hard pressed. Many others will disdain to succor of persons they deem complicit in their own fates.
There will be suffering. It will be massive. Some will die.
Yet the reckoning is at hand. It cannot be delayed much longer: even if the rising some foresee should fail to materialize, our current profligacy and laissez les bon temps roulez insouciance cannot last more than a year or so from here. No matter how well politically connected you are, you cannot consume what no one has produced.
Americans' charitable impulses and capacities, even if nominally quantitatively adequate to the demands that will be placed upon them, will fail to reach some persons in time. That, too, is guaranteed.
As one who holds notions of collective responsibility in low esteem, I dislike to proceed from here, but intellectual honesty requires it:
We brought this on ourselves.
Mmmmm...Baked Apple...Where's the Cinnimon?
By Phasma Scriptor
Baked Apple - the weather bombers of the Rothschilds score a direct hit on the Northeastern Corridor
.
On August 14, 2003, the lights went out in BosWash (the largest urban area in history, Boston-New-York-Philadelphia-Baltimore-Washington-DC), a condition that rolled hundreds of miles northwestward, into the Canadian province of Ontario, westward into Michigan and Ohio. Although some estimates claimed that about 55 million people were affected, that was undoubtedly a lowball, practically speaking, in the dirt; 75-90 million was probably more like it. The affected area experienced as much as an 80% drop in load, along with about a 500% increase in stew-pid with the release of numerous “official”, later found to be false, claims of the cause, including, in that era of highest stew-pidity maybe of all time, “terrorists”; that would be stew-pidity level RED. That doesn’t mean the BosWash power grid ain’t in jeopardy.
A regional heat wave helped trigger the outage, but, much more significantly, the power grid itself, not having had the necessary upgrades since the last Great Blackout of 1965, is easily the most vulnerable power grid on Earth, relative to its concentration of human activity dependent on that power grid. Among the multitude of cracks in the Northeastern Corridor power supply system, is the disconnect between the allegedly automatic fail-safes triggered by computer brains and the human brains that are supposed to intervene in the event the computer brains have an aneurysm, or vice versa. Among the burgeoning multitude of likely disastrous consequences are the keeling over of all the conveniences of modern life, such as cellular telephone systems (and all the attendant texting, tweeting, etc., spelling the end of life as we know it for nearly all teen-agers, exception - Amish teens), transportation systems (all electric commuter trains would thereby become large, expensive paperweights), utility systems (such as water pumping stations, giving new meaning to “getting hit with a shitstorm”), et cetera.
The Great Blackout of 1965 should have been the hot poker up the ass of the jokers who pretend to be the leaders of this deteriorating nation. Nya, nya, the pols and, worse, the voters, ignored this threat. The even Greater Blackout of 2003 should have been ground glass in their eyes. Nya, nya, nya, nya, nya, nya, the pols and the voters prove to be impervious to having ground glass smooshed into their eyes, ears and every other orifice on their bodies. The Economic Stimulus of 2009 was supposed to be spent on these very problems of literally disintegrating infrastructure. Nya to the nth power; some of it was spent on infrastructure, but was way, way, way too little, and almost certainly too late.
Thus, the Northeastern Corridor has become targeted by the Masters of Weather-as-Strategic-Weaponry, definitely NOT a recent development.
While the Soviets were and continue to be amongst the most incompetent practitioners of modern policy, warcraft, spycraft, technology, oh, you name it, they’ve probably screwed it up. Only because they were propped up by Wall Street tycoons (the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds) from the beginning (see, e.g., Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, Antony Sutton), continuing through their dithering attempts to build the semblance of a military (see, e.g., Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development, Antony Sutton, also, The Best Enemy Money Can b Buy, detailing the transfer of hundreds of tons of military equipment from the US to the Soviets) and the necessity of having to present nuclear devices, silver-platter-style, to them (see previous posting about where the actual control of those terrifying Soviet ICBMs was resident), did the Soviets manage to keep so many otherwise intellectually and morally superior peoples under their control.
However, they did do one smart thing. One. Sneaky, sort of, but still smart. Well, maybe, because Americans were too smug. The Soviets came to America and acquired the papers of Nikola Tesla, who might have been the father of the modern wireless, direct-current power grid (a misnomer, since wireless DC wouldn’t require an enormous power GRID, or infrastructure), except Thomas Edison had more money behind him. Of course, if that had been the path of power generation in this country and, ultimately, the entire globe, the Great Blackouts wouldn’t have happened. But, I digress.
What did the Soviets do with the inspired ideas of Tesla? Why, what they always do, Pinky. Try to take over the world. But, like Brain, the Soviets were always well short of being able to make good on their threat, there being no Rockefeller or Rothschild funding for anything that could present real geo-political discomfort (the Lend-Lease equipment was at least one generation into obsolescence); no different with the Great Tesla Weather Weapon project.
Using Tesla’s research and experiments, the Soviets set up stations which were intended to and did (much to their surprise) produce electrostatic fields; those fields were able to effectively push large volumes of air, thus, enabling them to generate weather fronts. The initial efforts ultimately were successful in giving a glimmer of hope to the oldest Russian dream - warm weather. Oooh, suntans without freezer-burn. The Russians apparently forgot that the only strategy that ever worked for them against any well-armed (as in up-to-date) adversary (with bullets, as opposed to snowballs) was waiting for the super-frigid Russian winter to infect the arrogant invading army with an epidemic of terminal frostbite. The lust for a growing season longer than 7 days was just too much to resist. We could grow … what’s it called? Summer wheat. Holy mother of Pravda! Wait, wait, what about the Gulag? Fuggedda about it, we’ll just ship ’em off to Canada as draft-dodgers.
The winter of 1978-79 was the pinnacle of Russian prowess with respect to electrostatically rerouting the Siberian express from their territories up and over the North Pole and, mush, onto North America. The result was record snowfall in, for instance, the Chicago area. Little did Mayor Michael Bilandic, favorite son of the Daley Machine, realize that the blitzkrieg of snow that shoveled him from office in favor of the super-longshot, Jane Byrne, was blown in courtesy of the Soviet weather bombers.
Ah, but, just as in every episode of Pinky and the Brain, the inevitable overlooked Murphy’s Law corollary intruded on the Soviet plan to throw off the domination of their financial overlords. It’s a name that will live in obscure Soviet infamy - Chernobyl.
Tesla’s DC powering up of wireless electrostatic energy was tremendously efficient, in theory, but in the realities of process development, weather modification was hardly a slouch when it came to power requirements; the supply of electricity necessary to create a weather front was still pretty formidable. What to do? What to do? Comrade Brain would have been so toasting us w/best Wodka awailable. We’ll use our poorly designed, never-quite-manufactured-up-to-proper-code, nuclear power plants to usher in the golden age of Soviet farming. It’ll be just like the Amerika, with amber waves of grain, and, and, Soviet beer. Of course, as Pinky would say, “Oh, oh, no, wait …”
Chernobyl went Three-Mile-Island on radioactive steroids during a major ramp-up of the system and that was pretty much all Solzhenitsyn wrote. But, the dream lived on, amazingly enough, even before the collapse of the Soviet faux empire (let’s see, can a faux empire actually collapse? The answer, my friend, is breakin’ in the wind). In 1988, the techs involved in the Great Tesla Weather Weaponization were brought over to Fermilab in Geneva, Illinois, where they proceeded to huddle with guys who might truly have a clue, which also included the Argonne Labs crew.
Shortly thereafter, the sights and signs in the sky began in earnest, of which I witnessed many. It began with a cluster of news reports describing “balls of lightning” that electrocuted several people in forest preserves in the Western suburbs of Chicago. At the time, I was living in the Western suburbs of Chicago; within days of those reports, I was sitting at the kitchen window reading, when a very light drizzle began to fall. Not a big deal. At first, I paid no attention … until the drizzle had lasted for about 15 minutes, with the droplets coming straight down. No wind. Slightly unusual. I went outside and looked up. Drizzle coming straight down, no wind, blue sky very visible through wispy clouds. I’m now intrigued, never having seen anything like that in the Chicago area, or anywhere I’d ever been. That condition lasted for about another hour before finally just dissipating. Very curious. Question to self: Is it connected to the sort-of St. Elmo’s Fire occurrences? Don’t know.
After that, the weird, unnatural (meaning, man-made) psyche-rattling skyscapes kept showing up. Among the more memorable sights were a cloud formation shaped like wagon wheel spokes (flat, sharply defined w/straight edges, narrowing towards the center w/a hole at the center); a second, more intricate, spoked formation (w/concentric circles cutting through the spokes, each segment having sharp, cone-shaped spikes that looked like snow-covered pine trees, all of which went limp within two seconds, upon which I immediately looked up and saw three military fighter jets turn on their afterburners and rocket off in opposite directions); a late-evening build-up of storm clouds which, from my position looking west, was slightly illuminated by the post-sunset sky, showing clearly three distinct, discrete sites to which all the green-hued lightning from the approaching front struck; the view, from my window, looking toward Fermilab in Geneva, Illinois, of a monster bolt of electrostatic energy that arose from the ground and, after rising to a height, measured in arms-length perspective, of about the width of my forefinger and thumb spread apart while the bolt’s width was about a finger’s width, turned back to the ground from a near-v-shaped top; giant tube cloud formations, again very sharply defined, bent in sine-waves, lined up perpendicular to and along a major expressway, with wispy lattices evenly spaced between each tube shaped formation; a sharply-defined cloud formation, from below about 4” in width at arm’s length, that was a ruler-straight ribbon running from beyond the horizon in the Southwest to beyond the horizon in the Northeast; orange and blue spoke-shaped rays of light emanating from a setting sun, which was the subject of so many panicked and curious inquiries from the public that local weather reporters had to comment (they were said to be reflections of ice crystals … NAARF!); a sharp straight visible division between what amounted to two halves of the sky, noticeable for two reasons: one, the two distinctly different blue hues on either side of the divide and, two, the clouds that existed on either side of the divide, but not the other, sharply ending at the juncture (a military intel individual looked up when I asked what it was and he proceeded to look up, look back down quickly after a wincing/shoulder-shrugging reaction and, then, gave me a quizzical expression signifying knowledge of what it was, but being unable to tell me); finally, the two-hour-long formation of a thunderstorm, well after sunset, wherein a dark mountain-shaped cloud was bombarded with electrostatic energy, that looked like large camera flashlights (in attempting to get closer to the huge cloud, which didn’t move for the entire time of the bombardment, I finally ran out of time headed for Argonne Labs - the cloud began to move east, just as the newsradio station to which the car radio was tuned announced the approaching storm, whereupon the mountain very quickly arced around to join rapidly-forming thunderclouds to the west and then northward). Most of these incidents were localized in the Western suburbs of Chicago (the orange-blue rays, of course, were seen over a large portion of the Chicago area; the sine-wave cloud formations were probably a product of an apparatus at Glenview Naval Air Station; the 1st cloud spokes were over the Northwest suburbs of Chicago; the divided sky was seen near the huge Naval installation at Norfolk, Virginia, where national security secrets sit floating in the water).
Were these all fanciful experiments that resulted from the newly-allied Soviet-techies and the Fermilab/Argonne-Labs scientists? More importantly, do they bear any relationship to subsequent events, like the current state of weather, not climate, on a fairly short-term basis? Methinks the answer to both questions is yes.
In previous communiques, I proposed that the weather patterns preceding the monster snowstorms on the East Coast in early February of this year had been repeated in previous seasons; this year’s was called “potentially epic” by the NYT. The pattern is simple - strong winds, roaring straight south out of Canada over Lake Michigan, pick up moisture from that longest of all the Great Lakes, continue southward until they reach the Southern States of Alabama and Tennessee where they pick up more humidity, whereupon, the prevailing Southwesterly flow of air currents pushes that epic-proportion of airborne water up into the Northeastern Corridor, at which point, another massive cold front puts the brakes on all that water, now snow, causing it to be dumped on the 50 million or so residents of BosWash. The jetstream looked like a graph of recent stock market action - diving straight south, then doing a near V-shaped single toe-loop in Alabama, then racing northeast.
This time around, the capper was an “extremely unusual” (Weather Channel language, not mine) weather system (an “anomaly”) that traveled westward toward Western New York State, pulling frigid Atlantic Ocean moisture towards the humidity freight train bearing down on the NEC. That system wasn’t just moving in the wrong direction; it was elongated, stretching from the NEC to Lake Michigan (think Nathan’s hot dog, w/ice chips), where the western edge stalled, keeping the snow pump primed for about two weeks.
The recent hiring by the Weather Channel of NBC weather guy Al Roker is interesting because Roker stated on air, while at NBC, that the weather was being manipulated. Exactly. Just way more than when Roker said it. These "anomalies" are not anomalies, but purposeful waging of weather warfare of the Rothschild stronghold (Chicago) v. the Rockefeller stronghold (BosWash) in North America. Tracking the weather patterns, the so-called "hundred year" rain of last year appears to have been the result of a combination of the nation’s weather altering facilities - in Alaska @ Elmendorf AFB (warehouse for a huge nuclear stockpile), in New Mexico @ the hypersecret Area 51 "UFO" facility, the high-security Huntsville/Oak-Ridge-TN axis (similar to the other facilities - Huntsville is HQ for much space exploration tech, Oak Ridge was the home of the development of the A-bomb and remains an advanced tech research facility and nuclear power site) and, of course, Fermilab/Argonne, powered by the vast electrical resources of Illinois which has the most reactors in the US; another would be Norfolk, manned by Marine personnel. No Chernobyls here, thank you very much.
In better lighting, the “anomaly” isn’t any such thing. The Fermilab/Argonne axis electrostatically pushed the air currents straight south from Canada over Lake Michigan, with enough force (we’re talking air here, not concrete blocks) to get the Lake-moisture-laden air all the way to the Huntsville/Oak-Ridge boys who caught the Midwest pitch and relayed it up the Appalachian ridge to the NEC, at which point, Fermilab/Argonne had already pivoted into pushing air west to draw an artificial Atlantic Ocean front over the NEC to collide with the Huntsville/Oak-Ridge relay throw. Snowstorm of the Century, resulting in extreme pressure on the NEC’s fragile infrastructure.
Ultimately, the cover story for these Tesla-based experiments is that the military is using Tesla's ideas to try to mitigate global warming, in which the Pentagon, under the recommendations of the Schwartz/Randall (the Global Business Network consultants) study, released in the fall of 2003 (commissioned for the purpose of determining strategic policy when, not if, radical climatological change occurs - forecast for this year), is heavily involved, both from its causation of global warming and from its experiments to cool off the North American climate. It may very well be that many techies who participate in such exotic exercises are doing it for what they believe is the good of mankind, but the results, e.g., the NEC burial in snow, don't bear that out. Of course, they’re not exactly privy to the Rothschild control of most, if not all, of these weather-altering apparats.
Moving ahead to today in the Baked Apple. Record high temps all over the NEC. Infrastructure in the crapper since 1965. Another weather bomb? Quoting the clueless deadhead of the Century, “You betcha!” If only this whole weather warfare thing was as unsubstantiated as virtually every peep coming out of that scar-for-a-mouth on Sister Sarah. It’s the opposite. The evidence is as plain as the weather patterns of the past week leading up to the enormous weather stressors unleashed on the NEC right now.
The weather system that was heading for the Chicago area, forecast to bring days of rain, missed, arcing northward into Wisconsin and further into Canada where it turned right and curled clockwise into a nice semi-circular blockade to cooler temps, simultaneously drawing air northward into Canada. Meanwhile, Huntsville/Oak-Ridge, not working very hard, merely had to ensure that the normal flow of hot, humid Southeastern air was dispatched into the NEC under the Appalachians along the hot, humid Mid-Atlantic coast and, thence, drawn up into BosWash.
Having Con Ed power supplies see signs of getting brown around the edges on top of record temperature-humidity-indices will usher in an NEC episode of Chicago’s Killer Heat Wave of 1995, which saw over 700 Chicagoans, not counting non-Cook-County stats, wilt to death (without a massive power outage due to the surplus of nuclear power plants in Illinois). Much more worrisome, the potential for a power grid wipeout, not blackout, is as high as the dials on the AC of everyone in the NEC.
Learn How to "Secret Stash" Things
This project is about concealing valuables, secrets, bad habits and personal information in our workplaces. Here, hidden spaces/ messages were created within 8 general objects such as wood boards, lamps and disposable coffee cups.
Why doing this?
We all have the need of hiding.
We hide our valuables from being stolen, we conceal our past from our loved ones, we never show our real side to colleagues, we all have secrets. Or, sometimes we just want to keep something only for ourselves.
How?
Utilize stereotypes and visual camouflage.
We make judgments based mainly on our experiences and what we see. This dependency on visual information can create large blind spots. Thus, usual stereotypes of how we perceive solid, transparency and lighting are employed in this project to play with notions of ‘solid and void’, and ‘true and false’.
Happy Dependence Day!!!
Why We Mourn the 4th of July
In 1776, fifty-six men signed the Declaration of Independence declaring that,
"We hold these truths to be self-evident. . ."
What truths were "these truths"?
There were only 5 Truths (premises or foundational principles) articulated as the reasons for the Declaration.
The whole idea and reason for the Declaration of Independence and the subsequently instituted governments of the United States of America rest upon these 5 Truths.
The signers of the Declaration of Independence believed that those who supported these 5 Truths were good people and supporters of freedom.
However, those who opposed the 5 Truths were against liberty as agents of dictators, tyrants and despots.
Which one are you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you believe in the 5 Truths?

Truth 1. All people are created equal by "Nature's God." (No commentary was given about the nature of, or, who "Nature's God" was believed to be. However, knowing who Jefferson was and what he and other founders believed, it can be inferred that the implication was from a Deistic

and general "Christianized" world-view.)

Truth 2. All created equal people are endowed with certain unalienable rights.

Truth 3. By the consent of the equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights, governments are formed to secure those endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people.

Truth 4. When any form of government becomes destructive of those endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people, it is the right and duty of the equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights to replace that government with one that will secure those, endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people.

Truth 5. Changes of government should not be for casual and changing reasons, therefore, the equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights must declare the causes that make them change governments.

Make no mistake in thinking that this is a light matter. We as a nation are approaching a fork in the road together.

There are those among us who believe that "government" is the source of rights and liberty. They are the modern day Tories, the royalists, and believers in the divine rights of kings. Only today their "king" is the Government.

We have almost come full circle in our experiment in liberty from where we started.

From:
an out of control constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government that reduced its loyal citizens to property of the State,

To:
a "constitutional republic" form whose substance is a
"democratic representative" legislative government that distorts the words, meanings and intent of the Constitution thereby reducing the people to property of the State.

True American Patriots still believe in the 5Truths of Freedom

  • To embrace these truths by believing in them and living by them is to be an American patriot, honoring the men and women who fought and died for liberty.
  • To infringe or alienate these truths by action or accepting government's actions is to dishonor the patriots who have lived and died for us.

On which side do you stand?

    (a)The promise of tranquil security by intrusive government, mouthing words of liberty while taking away rights by regulation forcing you to give up your "fair share" of freedom for privileged benefits that rest upon you as chains of control?

    (b)The 5Truths and the certain human rights endowed to an equal people that must not be infringed by your countrymen in your service in government leaving you to live the "animating contest of freedom" in liberty while pursuing the happiness of responsible self-ownership?

If you believe in the 5Truths then generate interest in the 5Truths. Tell others about the 5Truths. Compare our government today to the 5Truths. The resistance has begun. Join the Resistance.

Why we mourn is that the hopes and dreams of people over 200 years ago have been dashed and turned inside out to legitimize a corrupt and tyrannical regime of aristocrats. What was gained through sacrifice and blood has now been almost all lost to greed and lethargy. It will now take great sacrifice and blood of a new generation to remove the chains of slavery. No one has ever "voted" their way out of tyranny. It has ALWAYS cost lives and fortunes to throw off oppression. War is coming, be sure of it. What form it takes, who will be on which side, how many wil live or die and what will be the outcome is still in the future.

Prepare! Prepare! Wake Up! To Arms! The Ameritish are coming!

Blind Nationalism

Today is a day when millions of victims of a tyrannical regime go out and proudly display their blind loyalty to that regime. The modern celebrations which occur on July 4th make about as much sense as Jews proudly parading around carrying banners of Swastikas.

What, exactly, does the American flag represent? I don't mean what do you WISH it represented--I mean, given how it is used and displayed today, what must it ACTUALLY represent? Well, the nationalistic "pledge of allegiance" says that the flag stands for a "Republic." In other words, millions of children (not to mention adults) are trained to swear allegiance to a FLAG and a GOVERNMENT.

Eeww. How revolting.

A lot of people have told me they think I'm a "true patriot." I know they mean it as a compliment, but I'm not sure why. What is it that I'm being loyal to? It sure as heck isn't the government, or a piece of cloth (the flag). In short, I'm loyal to the idea of FREEDOM--that every individual rightfully owns himself, and that any infringement upon that right (e.g., ALL "government") is an evil abomination.

Now, some people like to imagine that that is what the U.S. of A. is about: freedom. However, I don't see a shred of support for such a claim. A couple hundred years ago you might have been able to make such an argument, but what about today? Most of the country continues to vote for one of two clubs of nationalist socialists, though they use the meaningless names "Democratic" and "Republican." Neither club cares a whit about freedom, inalienable rights, or even the flawed Constitution.

So in what way can the U.S. be called pro-freedom? The tyrants in Washington obviously aren't, nor are the sheep who elect them. In short, if you care about freedom, waving the American flag now makes about as much sense as waving the flag of the Soviet Union. Whatever you WISH it represented, it is now in reality a symbol of tyranny, at home and abroad. Do you really think the symbol that flies over all of the giant monuments to power--the federal buildings--represents liberty anymore?

If you love freedom, as I do, there is no country on earth for you. Every flag, every nation, stands for your enslavement, in one way or another. The megalomaniacs have their tentacles just about everywhere. But what is more sickening than that is how the same people being controlled, taxed, and regulated into economic and psychological ruin will be out in force today, celebrating their purely imagined "freedom." I, for one, can't stand the sight of it anymore, so don't expect to see me at any parades or celebrations.

Unlike 99.9% of this country, I see no reason to celebrate my own enslavement.

But have a Happy Dependence Day anyway. "If you're free and you know it, clank your chains!" ...

Sincerely,

Larken Rose

Seven Ways To Spot An Unmarked Police Car

Just in time for the Pigs Holiday of 'Traffic" enforcement How to Beat The Heat: Seven Ways To Spot An Unmarked Police Car. The feakine pigs are out in force this weekend. To be for warned is to be for armed.

From: RideLust.com

My brother is a cop, and he worked his way up through the ranks to become a captain in his department. One of the perks of the job is an unmarked police car, since he can get called in at any hour of the day or night. His is a Dodge Charger, black on black, AWD, with the 5.7 liter Hemi. I could spot it as a cop car from half a mile away, but it’s surprising how many drivers have no clue.

As a public service to you, the RideLust reader, I present seven ways to tell if that Crown VIc in your rear view mirror is about to light you up or not. Want to know if you can pass that Charger in the middle lane, doing five over the speed limit, without raising your insurance rates? Read on.

Learn what makes and models are used by police in your area

Yes, even Mustangs (ed. and Chargers) can be cop cars.

This is a tough one, since a wide variety of unmarked cars can be used for speed enforcement and undercover work. There are the obvious choices, like Dodge Chargers, Ford Crown Victorias, and even Chevrolet Impalas. Some departments like to use Ford Mustangs as chase cars, and I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before Dodge Challengers and the new Chevy Camaro get pressed into service.

Bottom line? If the car is a Crown Vic or a Charger, you should ramp up your paranoia and move on to the next step.

Look for multiple antennas

Multiple antennas generallyindicate a cop car.

Cop cars have radios and electronics, usually lots of them. Look for multiple, unfamiliar antennas. Some may be low profile, so look for anything on the roof or trunk that doesn’t look like an FM or satellite radio antenna. If you spot two or more, start thinking that it’s some kind of official vehicle.

Look for semi-hidden strobe lights – grille, rear license plate, mirrors, windshield

See the strobes in the grille and by the rearview mirror?

This should be obvious, yet most people don’t even bother to look for strobes. Some are hidden in the taillights, but others should be visible in daylight conditions. Look at the cars grille for red and blue strobes. If the car is behind you, look at the top of the windshield for an interior (hidden) lightbar. Check the mirrors, as unmarked cars often incorporate strobes into the rear view mirrors. If you’re approaching from behind the car, look for any lights out of place at the rear, such as small strobes above the license plate.

Kagan Kraps on the Declaration of Independence

People exist first and then create governments of laws. The ninth and tenth amendments refer to prior existing rights.

To deny human rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is to deny the very validation for the war of independence.

She is a wolf in sheep's clothing, a big government authoritarian, and one who ONLY believes in "rights" that the government/law grants to a person. If she is confirmed then the Senate has again broken faith with the American people and with our historical understanding of natural rights.

This goes to prove again that rule by none is better than rule by some.

I would not be surprised that, as per her admission of how she spends Christmas, she also spends the 4th of July in a Chinese Restaurant!

Krap on Kagen!

Was Mrs. O'Leary's Cow was a British Agent?

By Phasma Scriptor

Mrs. O'Leary's Cow was a British Agent; the latter-day Cow is an Elephant, agents of the BP, or Why BP’s Alaskan faux island gambit provides ZERO protection against federal rules concerning offshore drilling

When the Brit-owned Illinois Central RR (technically, everything in a monarchy is owned by occupant of the Throne via dominion directum - absolute power to direct) decided to construct its main route from Chicago to Mobile, it was doing so as part of the Queen's grand strategy to take back the renegade colony. All the other main rail lines traversed the US E to W; the IC cut the country in half parallel to the Miss R, upon which the Brit Navy could navigate w/impunity vs. the puny American Navy (forget that silly 1812 affair). The IC would supply logistical support and rapid troop transport/deployment.

One ointmental fly - the crooked-from-year-0 Chicago City Council (dominated by the original ruling triumvirate of saloonkeepers, pimps & gamblers) which, w/o proper grease (that would be an actual shakedown, done Chicago-style), wasn't about to approve IC right-of-way into downtown Chicago. Undeterred, the Brits bought up available land as far N as they could - up to 55th St. ~8 miles from the business district (now the Loop). The rest of the route eventually veered off into Lake Michigan on pilings several hundred feet from the South Shore.

The Councilmen, wise in the ways of protecting their turf, passed an ordinance forbidding landfill off the lakeshore, obviously, a clear this-means-you shot across the bow of IC. As part of the Brits' 'scuse-us for their part in the semi-successful attempt to recoup the Amer colonials via the coup dubbed The Civil War, a specially-tricked-out IC train carried the body of murdered Prez Lincoln back to his home state of Illinois, at the Chicago terminus (pix are available). Inter alia, it was a return shot across the bow of the Chicago fixers.

6 years later, w/Reconstruction in full swing (there being no Honest Abe to prevent the post-war Deconstruction of the Constitution under the guise of freeing the slaves; Lincoln would have freed the slaves w/o converting the Rebel States into military regions, key to the necessity to eliminate him, he having been a praying man, not, as was the Queen, a preying mantis), Mrs. O'Leary's cow started the Great Chicago Fire, burning down the all-wood infrastructure of Chicago's downtown, all the way up to, hmmm, 55th St., where a man dressed-up as an Army Major just happened to be parked w/wagons loaded w/just enough dynamite to blow a firebreak in the wood-frame bungalows, heroically stopping the raging flames just short of the, uh, um, hmmmm, IC trackage from where it said bye-bye to the shoreline.

What to do? What to do? Here we veddy prahper Brits are w/all this construction equipment and all this debris lying around. Should we get in touch w/the Councilmen? Maybe, they might try to enforce that landfill ordinance. Naw. Let's go ahead and shove all this ugly debris into the water. We won't even charge ‘em.

Thus, the IC tracks were wondrously joined to land. The Queen was pleased. Of course, as any visitor to Chicago's South Shore and to Grant Park can see, the IC didn't stop the landfill gambit at their sort-of offshore tracks; those tracks now appear to be well inland. According to Illinois Central Railroad v. Illinois, 146 US 387 (1892), they're not.

The IC wanted to claim that the "land" upon which they had, with such intrigue, labored to reclaim from navigable waters, were theirs to do w/as the Queen pleased. The Supremes exclaimed, w/a nod to the Great Wizard of Oz, Not so fast. They held that navigable waters always remained navigable waters. Their reasoning:

It is a title held in trust for the people of the state, that they may enjoy the navigation of the waters, carry on commerce over them, and have liberty of fishing therein, freed from the obstruction or interference of private parties. The interest of the people in the navigation of the waters and in commerce over them may be improved in many instances by the erection of wharves, docks, and piers therein, for which purpose the state may grant parcels of the submerged lands; and, so long as their disposition is made for such purpose [and does not substantially impair the public trust], no valid objections can be made to the grants. … But that is a very different doctrine from the one which would sanction the abdication of the general control of the state over lands under the [146 U.S. 387, 453] navigable waters of an entire harbor or bay, or of a sea or lake. Such abdication is not consistent with the exercise of that trust which requires the government of the state to preserve such waters for the use of the public. The trust devolving upon the state for the public, and which can only be discharged by the management and control of property in which the public has an interest, cannot be relinquished by a transfer of the property. The control of the state for the purposes of the trust can never be lost, except as to such parcels as are used in promoting the interests of the public therein, or can be disposed of without any substantial impairment of the public interest in the lands and waters remaining. … A grant of all the lands under the navigable waters of a state has never been adjudged to be within the legislative power; and any attempted grant of the kind would be held, if not absolutely void on its face, as subject to revocation. The state can no more abdicate its trust over property in which the whole people are interested, like navigable waters and soils under them, so as to leave them entirely under the use and control of private parties, … than it can abdicate its police powers in the administration of government and the preservation of the peace. In the administration of government the use of such powers may for a limited period be delegated to a municipality or other body, but there always remains with the state the right to [146 U.S. 387, 454] revoke [emphasis added] those powers and exercise them in a more direct manner, and one more conformable to its wishes. So with trusts connected with public property, or property of a special character, like lands under navigable waters; they cannot be placed entirely beyond the direction and control of the state.

Soooo, building a faux island in the Beaufort Sea, 3 miles offshore, upon which to build BP's latest Doomsday device (dubbed Project Liberty), in order to justify claiming that offshore oil-drilling rules don't apply to BP's plan to put holes in really, really cold Alaskan water has, well, one honking big hole in it. Given the loss of the Gulf of Mexico shores, placing the enjoyment of those navigable entirely in jeopardy via this ruse is “always” subject to revocation.

Of course, we are talkin’ the State of Alaska, which, we've been lately given an entirely unwanted update, is populated w/"sportsmen" of which at least 1 is a "sportswoman" ("sportsditz"?). You betcha. All sportspersons own, at minimum, 1 shotgun per family member. And, I would guess, a significant number have sat w/their loaded shotguns, after a particularly bad day for harvesting moose antlers and ... think "The Deer Hunter" & Christopher Walken doing Russian Roulette duels. At that point, the typical Alaskan might catch himself (or her Sister-self) and realize, "I can't blow my brains out. I don't have any!! How useless is that?" More to the point, oh, wait a minute, yeah, that is the point. They're provably brainless, having put the Sister into the Governor's log cabin; thus, Alaskans aren't going to use the perfectly serviceable ruling in Illinois Central to insist that BP abide by offshore drilling rules on their faux island sitting on the public trust.
