No man thinks more highly than I do of
the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy persons who have
submitted comments to this venue. However, different men often see the same
subject in different lights, and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought
disrespectful to those people if I express opinions opposite to theirs. I will
speak forth my sentiments freely and without reservation. This is no time for
legal theories and speculations. The question before us is one of an awful future
for this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a
question of freedom or slavery, and in proportion to the magnitude of the
subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we
can hope to arrive at the truth, and fulfill the great responsibility, which we
hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time,
through fear of giving offense? I should consider myself as guilty of treason
towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward my beliefs, Nature's
Creator and myself.
Friends of freedom, listen to me, it is
natural for people to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our
eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she
transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and
arduous struggle for liberty? Are we like those who, having eyes, see not, and
having ears, hear not, the things, which concern their liberty? For my part,
whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth,
to know the worst, and to provide for it.
I have but one lamp by which my feet
are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging the
future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has
been in the conduct of the American government for the last 25 years to justify
those hopes in legal theory and practice with which people have expressed in a
multitude of articles. Is it in that insidious smile with which our petitions
for redress have been lately received and ignored? Trust it not, friends of
freedom; it will prove a snare to your feet. Do not let yourselves be betrayed
with civility. Actions speak
louder than words. Ask
yourselves how the gracious receptions of our petitions comports with those
warlike preparations, which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets of
Homeland Security minions, internal passports, internment camps and militarized
civil police armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we
shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to
win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, friends. These are the
implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which tyrants resort.
I ask you, people of America , what
means this martial array, if its purpose is not to force us to submission? Can
you assign any other possible motive for it? Have the American people any
enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of civil
armies? No, friends, she has none. However, the conduct of the American
government has created enemies. And this government has called we the people
its own enemy. These armies of those among us who side with repressive tyranny
are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent to bind and
rivet upon us those chains, which the powers behind American government have
been so long forging.
And what actions have we to oppose to
them? Shall we try argument? Seminars? Legal proceeding? Petition?
Demonstrations? Boycotts? Strikes? Friends, we have been trying that for the
last 25 years. What have we received in return? Heavy handed responses, media
pillorying and incarcerations. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject?
Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but
it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication?
What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted?
My fellow Americans, I beseech you, let
us not deceive ourselves. Friends of freedom, we have done everything that
could be done to avert the storm, which is now coming on. We have petitioned;
we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before
the whitewashed monuments of government hypocrisy, and have implored its
interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the Administration, Congress,
Courts and masked Alphabet agencies. Our petitions have been slighted; our
remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications
have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the seat
of American government!
In vain, after these things, may we
indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation? There is no longer any room
for hope. If we wish to be free--if we mean to preserve inviolate those
unalienable rights for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not to
cravenly abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and
which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of
our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, my fellow freedom
loving Americans, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of Liberty is
all that is left us!
Some of our more intimidated fellows
say that we are weak, unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. Only if
we attempt a fools rush headlong into their ballistics. When shall we be
stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are
totally disarmed, numbered, cataloged, and when an American guard physical or
electronic shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength but
irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance
by lying on our stomachs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope between our
interlaced fingers behind our heads, until those who have hijacked our
government shall have bound us hand and foot?
My fellow freedom loving Americans, we
are not weak if we make a proper use of those forces of freedom, which the God
of nature has placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy
cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are
invincible by any force, which those oligarchs of global planetationism can
send against us.
Besides, my friends we shall not fight
our battles alone. There is a just Providence who presides over the destinies
of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles with us. The
battle is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the
brave. Furthermore, my friends, we have no choice. As if we were low enough to
desire it, it is now too late to retire from this contest. There is no retreat
but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be
heard in halls of Congress, in the various state purveyors of Real I.D., in the internment
camps erected in stealth, in the terminals of our airports, in the railway
stations, in the subways of our great cities, on the once free highways, in the
banks of every town in America from sea to shining sea! The conflict is
inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, let it come.
It is in vain, my fellow freedom loving
Americans, to extenuate the matter. People may cry, Peace, Peace--but there is
no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the
District of Columbia will bring to our ears the clash of alphabet agencies and
National Guards attacking our brethren holed up in their once peaceful homes!
Why stand we here idle? What is it that you wish? What would they have? Is life
so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and
slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but
as for me, I will

die trying!

Carpe Libertatem! (Seize Liberty!)
People have often asked me where I got the phrase Carpe Libertatem from. I reply that the following prose inspired me to create the theme. Also, prompted by the Latin phrase de jure Carpe Diem from the movie Dead Poets Society, the theme and style combined became Carpe Libertatem. I assume the prose had a different title at one time, but by the time I got a copy, several generations old, it was lost. I have often asked if anyone knew who the original author was, as I would like to give them acknowledgment for their creativity. So far after a few years on the net the authorship is still unknown. - MitSo you want to be free?
Then become free. All the freedom you want is yours, which you are able to seize.
How does one seize freedom?
By avoiding, evading, escaping, discouraging, overpowering, destroying, or otherwise frustrating anyone who initiates force or threatened force against you. (Freedom as used here is defined as: the absence OR EFFECTIVE NEUTRALIZATION of initiated force or threat of force.)
"But the oppressors ignore my pleas for freedom," you complain.
Do you expect THEM to SET you free? As you yourself point out, your oppressors have morals which would shame a beast of the forests. So long as you obey all their rules, no matter how onerous, and pay all their taxes, no matter how burdensome -- why SHOULD they?
"And the oppressors dupe my neighbors, who are confused, unaware, and apathetic," you protest.
Do you expect THEM not to deceive? The herdsman can milk only tame cows; the tyrant can drive only submissive slaves.
"We must overturn the oppressors," some of you proclaim, "and rule wisely and justly in their place."
Then go do it --if you can! But don't be surprised when the oppressors stampede their bewildered subjects against you.
"We must educate -- teach increasing numbers our values and ideas," others of you shout. "And SOME day evil will be banished from the earth."
But as even YOU admit in your more reflective moments, this will take time -- MUCH time. So how shall you live the only life YOU will ever have? And how many followers can you attract AND HOLD if you offer only visions of a paradise for their great grandchildren?
"I DO want freedom," you cry. "But there is NO way to get it now -- no chance to elect, no means to revolt, and no place to go."
I reply: If you want freedom SEIZE IT!
"But my oppressors are organized into a powerful state," you object. "They have thousands of agents and millions of police."
However, each of the state's minions has only the same two eyes, the same two hands, and usually not so much brains as you or I. They cannot be everywhere; they cannot see everything.
"But they will collect a tax on my earnings," you protest.
Only if you are so craven as to hand it over. Discover ways to avoid their extortion's: Trade with those who practice freedom. Or be as a gypsy who sells -- and flees.
"But they will confiscate my property," you quaver.
Only if you are so foolish as to lead them to it. Convert your wealth to forms you can conceal. And rent your shops and homes -- or mortgage them to the hilt.
"But they will throw me in jail," you whimper.
Only if you are so careless as to stumble over them -- they who have trouble apprehending morons and psychopaths. Make yourself hard to find.
"But that is too much trouble," you quibble.
"I'd rather follow their rules and pay their taxes,
lick their boots and hone their axes,
do all they demand, and maybe, oh maybe,
they will leave me alone just ...a... little."
Then tag along with the sheep to slaughter; you who expect freedom on a silver platter. For how long can you appease the tyrant who will demand more and more, until he has YOU? And what do we know of this utopia that some of you dream of? In every land, of which we hear, there are some who covet the lives and creations of others -- predators who rob and enslave the weak, the foolish, and the cowardly.
Sometimes the predators are lone -- and slink about as criminals. So, the free men go like tigers -- armed and ready for self-defense.
Sometimes the predators join together -- and stalk about as rulers. So, the free men go like foxes -- inconspicuous and ready to hide.
Occasionally the free men ally to put down the predators. But somehow their forces tend to become slavers and looters in turn.
However, in almost any land, those with the courage to assert their freedom seldom need to fight OR hide, for the predators live off the easy prey.
"But this will pass," you say to me
"for now, at last, I have the key --
the elixir for liberty--
for the first time in history--
And once sufficient numbers see..."
Well maybe... but in the meantime...
All of the freedom is yours which you are able to SEIZE!"

In 1776, fifty-six men signed the Declaration of Independence declaring that,
“We hold these truths
to be self-evident…”
What truths were “these truths”?
The 5 Truths
The
whole of the Declaration of Independence and the following
instituted governments of the United States of America
rest upon the acknowledgment of these 5Truths.
The
signers of the Declaration of Independence believed that those
who supported these 5 Truths were good moral people and supporters of
freedom.

Do you believe in the
5 Truths?
Truth
1. All
people are created equal.
Truth 3. Only by the consent of the created equal people with endowed certain unalienable rights, governments are formed to secure those endowed certain unalienable rights and derive their powers only from the consent of the equal people endowed with certain unalienable rights.
Truth 4. When any form of government becomes destructive of those endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people, it is the “Right of the People” created equal and endowed with certain unalienable rights to replace that government with one that will secure those, endowed certain unalienable rights of the equal people.
Truth 5. When it becomes
evident that a form of government has a design to reduce the equal people with
endowed certain unalienable rights under absolute Despotism, it is their
right, it is their duty, to throw off such a government. And that a decent respect for the opinions of mankind requires that the equal people with
endowed certain unalienable rights should declare the causes that
make them change governments by submitting facts to a candid world.
Make no mistake in thinking that this is a light matter. There are those among us who believe that “government” is the source of rights and liberty. They are the modern day Tories, the royalists, and believers in the divine rights of kings. Only today their “king” is the Government.
We have almost come full circle in our experiment in liberty to from where we started.
From:
an
out of control constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government that
reduced its loyal citizens to a property of the State,
To:
a constitutional representative bicameral
government with an unanswerable “Supreme Court” that distorts words and
meanings in the Constitution thereby reducing the people to a property of the State.
True American Liberty Lovers still believe in the 5Truths
of Freedom

To
embrace these truths by believing in them and living by them is
to be an American Liberty Lover, honoring the men and women who fought and died
for liberty.

To
infringe or alienate these truths by action or accepting the government’s actions
is to dishonor the sacrifice of those who have lived and died for us.

of tranquil security by intrusive government, mouthing words of liberty while
taking away rights by regulation, forcing you to give up your “fair share” of
freedom for privileged benefits that rest upon you as chains
of control?

(b) The 5Truths
and the certain human rights endowed to an equal people that must not be
infringed by your countrymen in your service in government leaving you to live the “animating contest of freedom”
in liberty while pursuing the happiness of responsible self-ownership?
If you believe in the 5Truths
then:
- LIVE the 5Truths!
- Generate interest in the 5Truths.
- Tell others about the 5Truths.
- Compare our government today to the 5Truths.
- Use the Roman numeral V for 5 or Victory or Vendetta.
- Greet one another by flashing the “old” peace sign that is a “V” or a wide open hand with 5 fingers spread wide!
- Show
others the “secret sign”
of 5.

The Truth About Easter 2
This year's Ostara and Vernal (Spring) Equinox will be with us on Tuesday, 20th March (at 05:14:01 London time for those who love to be specific)

Why do Xians celebrate a "pagan" Holyday? Modern-day Easter is derived from two ancient traditions: one Judeo-Christian and the other Pagan. Both Christians and Pagans have celebrated death and resurrection themes following the Spring Equinox for millennia. Most religious historians believe that many elements of the Christian observance of Easter were derived from earlier Pagan celebrations.
The equinox occurs each year on March 20, 21 or 22. Both Neonaturalists and Christians continue to celebrate religious rituals linked to the equinox. Origins of the name "Easter":
The name "Easter" originated with the names of an ancient Goddess and God. The Venerable Bede, (672-735 CE.) a Christian scholar, first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum that Easter was named after Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the "Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility [was] known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos." 1 Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre."
