More FASCIST FOLLIES!!!

Caught on tape: More deputies accused of brutally beating inmate.

Tampa, Florida- Former teacher Paul King says he used to be one of those people who said lock 'em up throw away the key.

However King has changed his mind since being arrested on public intoxication last July. A video shows deputies pushed him against a glass wall as he was being frisked, threw him to the ground for no apparent reason, held his neck back more than 2 minutes as he was being put into a restraint chair, put a hood over his face and then appeared to try to hide the action from cameras by moving paperwork to cover his head.

King says it's something like out of Guantanamo.

Christian Fundamentalism as a Instrument of US Military Doctrine

"When the Christian majority takes over this country, there will be no satanic churches, no more free distribution of pornography, no more talk of rights for homosexuals. After the Christian majority takes control, pluralism will be seen as immoral and evil and the state will not permit anybody the right to practice evil."

Snake Oil Sellers of the Christian Right?

Global Research, February 28, 2008
Inter Press Service - 2008-02-21

The U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs came under heavy criticism earlier this month from Muslim and religious freedom advocacy groups after it invited to a conference three self-professed "former terrorists" with strong links to the Christian right.

Collectively known as the "3-X Terrorists", Walid Shoebat, Kamel Saleem and Zacharia Anani are front line soldiers in the U.S. "culture wars", a discursive battle over "values" and hot-button issues ranging from abortion to radical Islam.

To supporters, the 3-X represent "moderate" voices; they are self-professed Muslim extremists who converted to evangelic
al Christianity and are now exposing Islam for what it really is. To critics, they are frauds, accused of fabricating much of their past exploits as mass murderers in order to peddle their Islamophobia on the lecture circuit and on cable news networks, including Fox News Corp. and CNN.

"These men are frauds, but that is not the point. They are part of a dark and frightening war by the Christian right against tolerance that, in the moment of another catastrophic terrorist attack on American soil, would make it acceptable to target and persecute all Muslims," wrote former New York Times reporter Chris Hedges in a widely circulated online essay.

"They offer a window into a worldview that is destroying the United States. It has corrupted the Republican party. It has colored the news media. It has entered into the everyday clichés we use to explain ourselves to ourselves. It is ignorant and racist, but it is also deadly," he said.

Controversy seems to follow Shoebat and his associates wherever they go. Members of the public and the news media were not allowed to attend a student-run forum featuring the three at Stanford University. Princeton University cancelled a scheduled talk by Shoebat in 2005 because it was perceived as being "too inflammatory". In 2006, Columbia University restricted public attendance at a speech with Shoebat and former Nazi Hitler youth and German soldier Hilmar Von Campe only three hours before the event was to take place.

How Good People Turn Evil, From Stanford to Abu Ghraib

Psychologist Philip Zimbardo has seen good people turn evil, and he thinks he knows why.

Zimbardo conducted a now-famous prison experiment at Stanford University in 1971, involving students who posed as prisoners and guards. Five days into the experiment, Zimbardo halted the study when the student guards began abusing the prisoners, forcing them to strip naked and simulate sex acts.Stanford Prison experiment posted on YouTube

His book, The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil, explores how a "perfect storm" of conditions can make ordinary people commit horrendous acts.

Zimbardo will speak Thursday afternoon at the TED conference, where he plans to illustrate his points by showing a three-minute video, obtained by Wired.com, that features many previously unseen photographs from the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq (disturbing content).

He spoke with Wired.com about what Abu Ghraib and his prison study can teach us about evil and why heroes are, by nature, social deviants.

G. Edward Griffin DELETED FROM WIKIPEDIA

Freedom Force Report for February 2008

From G. Edward Griffin

My biographical listing in Wikipedia was deleted last week after being on line for about five years. The reason is that Wikipedia’s high-level editors claim I am a conspiracy theorist and a promoter of quack cancer cures. Apparently they do not agree with my view that there are hidden agendas in banking and government and they do not favor my defense of natural health without drugs.

It is strange that they have no problem listing Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Dong, Al Capone, or even John D. Rockefeller’s father William Avery Rockefeller who, according to Wikipedia: “was a quack doctor and a confidence trickster.” Nevertheless, the editors of Wikipedia find me to be so offensive that I had to be removed from the Internet lest my ideas contaminate the public mind.

There probably is nothing that can be done about this, but if anyone has any suggestions, I would like to hear them – especially if any attorneys think that legal action might be appropriate. It’s not that I am so important, but there is a principle here that needs to be defended. It has something to do with the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Crazy Wisdom

To remain whole, be twisted.
To become straight, let yourself be bent.
To become full, be hollow.

—Tao Te Ching

A special kind of wisdom is loose in the world. This wisdom is difficult to codify or categorize and it refuses to be institutionalized. It is called crazy widom. And so it is, both crazy, and wisdom.

Crazy wisdom is the wisdom of the saint, the Zen master, the poet, the mad scientist, and the fool. Crazy wisdom sees that we live in a world of many illusions, that the Emperor has no clothes, and that much of human belief and behavior is ritualized nonsense. Crazy wisdom understands antimatter and old Sufi poetry; loves paradox and puns and pie fights and laughing at politicians. Crazy wisdom flips the world upside down and backward until everything becomes perfectly clear.

You will find crazy wisdom flowing through all of human history, bubbling up here and there, now and then, pointing out different ways of looking at things, reminding people to take it easy, and providing a necessary counterpoint to self-righteousness. From the Taoists to the Dadaists; from the Book of Ecclesiastes to Mark Twain's Letters to the Earth; in the parables of Chung Tzu and the Baal Shem Tov; out of the cyclonic whirl of Rumi's dervish poetry and the profound nonsense of Samuel Beckett's confused characters; lurking beneath the unruly hair of Albert Einstein and between the busy eyebrows of Groucho Marx, inside the howly voice of Allen Ginsburg and from behind the rags of Lilly Tomlin's bag lady: Whatever tone it speaks in and whatever disguise it wears, crazy wisdom arises again and again to expose us to ourselves and to remind us of the strange impossible nature of our enterprise here on earth: life.

—Wes "Scoop" Nisker, Crazy Wisdom

Freedom, Liberty, a crazy concept. So fragile, so short in the time line of human existence. The time is now to shed all the encumbrances of old order forms and embrace LIBERTY with joy and thankfulness by extending it to all who will return it as well.

St.Paul PoLICE to Infiltrate & Spy on Protesters

By Robin Marty

RNC in MSP According to the Star Tribune, the St. Paul Police will be investigating protest groups coming to the Republican National convention.

The new document is called "Policy and guidelines for investigations and information gathering operations involving First Amendment Activity." It involves monitoring "the activities of groups involved in or planning demonstrations and counter demonstrations which may affect public safety; violate state, local or federal laws; or which may result in a public safety risk."

Most interesting part? They have contingency plans for investigating the media, as well...

There is also a paragraph on procedures for investigating reporters employed by the "mainstream media." It states that besides following the law, such an investigation would require police to consult a prosecutor in advance.

Jane Kirtley, a professor of media ethics and law at the University of Minnesota, said she was glad the paragraph was there, but questioned why the mainstream media got "deferential treatment ... so if you are not in mainstream journalism, all bets are off."

False Flag Prospects, 2008 -- Top Three US Target Cities

Primary Target: Houston. Over the past four years military and police veterans like me have been alerting the public to government exercises aiming at the nuclear destruction of Houston petro-suburbs. Five times in those four years we were able to predict to within a day major petrochemical explosions in those petro-suburbs. The odds against this kind of accuracy are astronomical. As the center of Big Oil and the Bush Family, Houston remains the most endangered city in America. Any patriotic group, like mine, trying to alert its home city to the dangers of a false flag attack should read my recent article, "The 1/31 Nuke: Proof for Ron Paul" about the successful interdiction of a 2006 attempt against Texas City:
http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/08/01/28/may.htm

Secondary Target: Chicago. While Houston is the most endangered city, the most endangered building -- the best candidate to be the next World Trade Center -- is the Sears Tower. Official sources have pronounced it just that ever since the original 9/11 attack, when they said it was on the Al Qaeda hit list. Larry Silverstein, who bought the Twin Towers two months before 9/11, led a group that purchased the Sears Tower on 3/11, 2004, the day of the Madrid bombings. Federal officials have been pointing to Chicago and its Sears Tower as Al Qaeda targets since the original 9/11 attacks, and have repeated the threat ever since. In May 2006,, the government scheduled secret 9/11-type exercises in Chicago, while Chicago Mayor Daley was docked conveniently away in Israel for his first visit there. I sent a widely read communiqué to Illinois Governor Blagojevich as part of a successful Internet attempt to shut down the pending false flag attack:
http://tekgnosis.typepad.com/tekgnosis/2006/05/ghost_troop_com.html

Tertiary Target: Portland. Portland, called "Little Beirut" by Bush cronies because of its enmity to Bush 41 and Bush 43, only made my top three list last summer, when it was designated as a target for a nuclear attack by successive exercises Noble Resolve and TOPOFF. The language in an official press release stated the case plainly enough: "Noble Resolve will coordinate with officials in Oregon to model a nuclear attack on Portland." In the course of researching Portland for a series of articles I wrote about the city and its exercises. I discovered that Stanford and Harvard had prepared a detailed nuclear fallout map for it, that national military commanders and state National Guard commanders were telling different stories about what the exercises were trying to accomplish, and that Portland's The Oregonian newspaper was doing everything it could to avoid investigating the frightening anomalies. I wasn't at all surprised that the last day of the exercises found the Homeland Security director Michael Chertoff in downtown Portland, which was largely closed down by an "unexpected" bomb threat. For another professional perspective on how great the danger was -- and may be again -- I refer the reader to the analysis of my colleague, Major William B. Fox (USMC):

Bad Cops, Bad Cops whacha going to do when We The People come for you...?

  • Dear Chief Romero: You’re off your rocker if you think you can bring federal charges against someone for merely coming with an amusing and creative way of criticizing your department. Also, in making a big deal out of this, you only helped the critic’s message reach a wider audience. So congratulations!
  • This is absolutely chilling. Story here. The officer was fired, but is now suing to get his job back. The reaction from the police union is almost comical. “What we find to be unreasonable was the behavior of the suspect from the point she came in the room.” Really? Nothing unreasonable about the pool of blood she was lying in? The woman wasn’t being particularly cooperative, but it’s awfully damning that the cop turned off the camera. And sorry, but you don’t get those injuries from “falling.”
  • A cop in New Haven will get to keep his taxpayer-funded pension after pleading guilty to stealing seized drug money and from funds earmarked to pay drug informants. The reason? He was able to submit retirement papers before the city got around to firing him.
  • This one is priceless.
  • Car cam catches Tennessee officer (allegedly) planting marijuana after a traffic stop.
  • After a neighbor photographed police engaged in a drug raid, two cops charged the neighbors’ home, forced entry without a warrant, seized the camera and destroyed the film, and arrested the men who took the photographs. Charges were later dropped, and the men are now suing. In court, the prosecutor who tried to bring charges against the men finally agreed they’d done nothing wrong, and that the cops were out of line. But she still wouldn’t call what they did “criminal.” A police captain referred to their actions as, “a mistake in judgment.” Seems like a rather mild characterization of a home invasion, theft, wrongful arrest, and wrongful detainment in response to someone who was exercising his First Amendment rights.

On February 15th, the U.S. Senate officially asked President Jackson if he was going to live up to the Indian Trade and Intercourse Act passed in March, 1802. Today, President Jackson responded that he sides with the State of Georgia, and he will not enforce any law giving precedence to the Cherokees over Georgia. The Cherokees also sought relief through the courts. In "Worcester vs. Georgia" the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor of the Cherokees. The Indians were elated, believing they would get relief. President Jackson is reported to have said, "John Marshall has rendered his decision, now let him enforce it." Later, the "Native Americans" were forcibly removed to Oklahoma (see "Trail of Tears"). [There is a powerful lesson here about government and the "rule of law" -- ignore it at your peril.]

Fidel's last laugh

By going quietly, Castro has again confounded the US and its 50-year obsession with overthrowing the Cuban revolution.

With his dignified announcement of resignation, Fidel Castro has completed the inadvertent 18-month transition through which, one last time, he has confounded the United States government and its 50-year obsession with overthrowing the Cuban revolution.

The Americans have nurtured a simplistic game plan for decades, fed by their own self-delusions about Cuba. Castro would die, the oppressed people would rise up and the Americans would walk back in. It was always a nonsensical misreading of what the Cuban people would either desire or tolerate but today it looks even more ridiculous than before.

Generalissimo Washington: How He Crushed the Spirit of Liberty

By Murray N. Rothbard

[This article is excerpted from Conceived in Liberty, Volume IV, chapters 8 and 41.]

[
Bust of George Washington (1732–1799) by Giuseppe Ceracchi (1751–1801)]

In June of 1775, George Washington was appointed Major General and elected by Congress to be commander in chief of the American revolutionary forces. Although he took up his tasks energetically, Washington accomplished nothing militarily for the remainder of the year and more, nor did he try. His only campaign in 1775 was internal rather than external; it was directed against the American army as he found it, and was designed to extirpate the spirit of liberty pervading this unusually individualistic and democratic army of militiamen. In short, Washington set out to transform a people's army, uniquely suited for a libertarian revolution, into another orthodox and despotically ruled statist force after the familiar European model.

His primary aim was to crush the individualistic and democratic spirit of the American forces. For one thing, the officers of the militia were elected by their own men, and the discipline of repeated elections kept the officers from forming an aristocratic ruling caste typical of European armies of the period. The officers often drew little more pay than their men, and there were no hierarchical distinctions of rank imposed between officers and men. As a consequence, officers could not enforce their wills coercively on the soldiery. This New England equality horrified Washington's conservative and highly aristocratic soul.

To introduce a hierarchy of ruling caste, Washington insisted on distinctive decorations of dress in accordance with minute gradations of rank. As one observer phrased it: "New lords, new laws. … The strictest government is taking place, and great distinction is made between officers and soldier. Everyone is made to know his place and keep it." Despite the great expense involved, he also tried to stamp out individuality in the army by forcing uniforms upon them; but the scarcity of cloth made this plan unfeasible.

At least as important as distinctions in decoration was the introduction of extensive inequality in pay. Led by Washington and the other aristocratic southern delegates, and over the objections of Massachusetts, the Congress insisted on fixing a pay scale for generals and other officers considerably higher than that of the rank and file.

In addition to imposing a web of hierarchy on the Continental Army, Washington crushed liberty within by replacing individual responsibility by iron despotism and coercion. Severe and brutal punishments were imposed upon those soldiers whose sense of altruism failed to override their instinct for self-preservation. Furloughs were curtailed and girlfriends of soldiers were expelled from camp; above all, lengthy floggings were introduced for all practices that Washington considered esthetically or morally offensive. He even had the temerity to urge Congress to raise the maximum number of strikes of the lash from 39 to the enormous number of 500; fortunately, Congress refused.

A Hypothetical Situation?

Let's say you're one of the greatest presidents who ever lived. You launched a war against the greatest enemy your nation has ever faced and achieved victory in a few short days. After five years of mopping up operations, things are looking up, you may have even reached the point where State Department personnel can walk around the Embassy complex with only light body armor.

Then you're told that one of your "spy" satellites is falling to Earth. It's a big "spy" satellite, the size of a bus (let's just say it has a big freaking camera the size of, oh, the trajectory-adjustment stage and warheads of a Minuteman missile--I'm just using the trajectory-adjustment stage and warheads of a Minuteman missile for comparison purposes here--we all know it would be a violation of international law to place a nuke in orbit).

So anyway, this bus-sized "spy" satellite is falling to Earth. And although much of it will burn up in the atmosphere, big pieces of the "camera," perhaps even those containing plutonium or the inertial guidance system, will remain intact. These pieces could injure some one. What do you do?

It's an easy answer, really. You'd want to intercept it and blow it up into pieces small enough that they will be totally consumed in re-entry.

Fortunately it worked this time.

However, it's basically the same principle that was used to solve another large object removal problem back in the seventies.

Take a few minutes to watch this video and you'll see what I mean:

Got McCain?

Got McCain?

To be fair:

1) I want to see hundreds of billboards throughout Arizona asking women who have had sex with John McCain to call an 800 number and get a reward.

2) I want to know NOW which way his dick leans. (even though the Rightwing says it goes left, I want pictures)

3) A congressional investigation. Subpoena the woman, Vicki Iseman, her mother, friends and any children she may have as to her propensity to oral sex or be thrown in jail.

4) Assign Michael Moore as an "independent prosecutor" to research every private matter in McCain's life. With the power to subpoena and jail any woman who does not tell him what he wants to hear.

5) Have PETA draw up findings that McCain and his wife have murdered at least 50 people.

6) And of course, assign the most liberal 12 congressman as House Managers to proceed with having him removed from the Senate.

7) And hurry up with all this, we have an election coming up!

Quotes of the Day

"The problem of maintaining power in a dictatorship is really similar to that of maintaining a majority for redistributive purposes in a voting body. It is easily demonstrated, of course, that it is always possible to build a majority against any particular program of redistribution by offering something to the "outs" on the original program and fairly high payments to a few of the 'ins.' The situation in a dictatorship is similar. It is always possible at least in theory to collect together a group of people which is more powerful than the group supporting the status quo. This group will be composed of important officials of the regime who could benefit from its overthrow and their concomitant promotion." - Gordon Tullock, Autocracy, 1987, p. 19.

In the mythology of revolution, the people rising to throw off a tyrannical ruler is the dominant theme … Most of the mythology concerns a people driven beyond endurance by the vicious oppression of their masters rising up and establishing a noble and just republic. I regret to say that this myth is mainly myth. — Gordon Tullock, Autocracy, p. 53.

"Preventing overthrow by the common people is, in general, quite easy if the ruler is only
willing to repress vigorously and to offer large rewards for information about conspiracies against him." - Gordon Tullock, Autocracy, p.68.

Minnesota PoLice Stock Up On Tasers Before RNC

St. Paul to purchase Tasers just in time for RNC

by: Andy Birkey

RNC in MSPThe St. Paul Police Department is requesting 230 Tasers to outfit the all of the department's officers with the electroshock weapon, Fox 9 News reports. The SPPD will purchase the Tasers with $210,000 collected from drug raids. The St. Paul City Council will have to approve the purchase.

The purchase is expected to arrive in St. Paul just in time for the Republican National Convention prompting media speculation that the weapons are being purchased specifically for the convention. When asked by Fox 9 News whether the police will use the weapon at the convention particularly against protesters, police spokester Tom Walsh said, "Our hope is that no one will have to use any degree of force. If it becomes necessary, will that be one of the tools available to them? I suppose that's safe to say."

Five Americans died as a result of law enforcement use of Tasers in January 2008, on of whom was Minnesotan, Mark C. Backlund, 29, of Fridley, who was shocked after he "became uncooperative" with police after a car accident.

The death count resulting from Taser use in the United States in February so far has been one death per week.

A Government Devoid of Truth and Decency

What Do We Stand For?

By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

Americans traditionally thought of their country as a "city upon a hill," a "light unto the world." Today only the deluded think that. Polls show that the rest of the world regards the US and Israel as the two greatest threats to peace.

This is not surprising. In the words of Arthur Silber: "The Bush administration has announced to the world, and to all Americans, that this is what the United States now stands for: a vicious determination to dominate the world, criminal, genocidal wars of aggression, torture, and an increasingly brutal and brutalizing authoritarian state at home. That is what we stand for." *

Addressing his fellow Americans, Silber asks the paramount question, "why do you support " these horrors?

His question goes to the heart of the matter. Do we Americans have any honor, any humanity, any integrity, any awareness of the crimes our government is committing in our name? Do we have a moral conscience?

How can a moral conscience be reconciled with our continuing to tolerate our government which has invaded two countries on the basis of lies and deception, destroyed their civilian infrastructures and murdered hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children?

The killing and occupation continue even though we now know that the invasions were based on lies and fabricated "evidence." The entire world knows this. Yet, Americans continue to act as if the gratuitous invasions, the gratuitous killing, and the gratuitous destruction are justified. There is no end of it in sight.

If Americans have any honor, how can they betray their Founding Fathers, who gave them liberty, by tolerating a government that claims immunity to law and the Constitution and is erecting a police state in their midst?

Police Atrocities Define the Bush Police State

Jack booted thugs can now arrest you without a warrant, without “probable cause” or evidence that you might have committed a crime. Law abiding Americans are victimized by cops gone wild, sadistic hot dogs, mental midgets and Nazi wannabes. They are inspired by the atmosphere of fear and hate. Police atrocities are to be expected.

The real criminals are in the White House and, so far, they have escaped charges and justice. There is probable cause to try Bush himself for capital crimes --but he is free while millions are brutalized without charges, trial or representation. Now under Bush, jackbooted thugs don't even bother accusing you of a crime. You can be throw in jail upon whim. You don't get to make a phone call. You don't get to call your lawyer. You don't get to call your wife or husband. And you don't get visitors.

These days –who cares if you are innocent? Bush has assumed the power to 'define' you as a terrorist. Conceivably, you could be locked up in one of Bush's hell-holes for the rest of your life. You may never get your day in court. But if you dare to protest that you are an American citizen, you risk getting kicked in the balls, tasered, strip searched and beaten. In Houston, in the seventies, a young Hispanic male was accused of being rowdy in a bar. He was never charged. Rather, Houston cops took him to a secluded part of Buffalo Bayou, beat the crap out of him, and thew him into Buffalo Bayou where he drowned. Big Brother Bush spies on you. As early as 2002, Bush secretly ordered the National Security Agency (NSA) to monitor, intercept, and keep records on international phone calls and emails. They have simply declared they don't need court orders, they don't need probable cause, they don't need authorization, they don't even need 'reasonable suspicion', Gen. Michael Hayden's fictitious, delusional and non-existent standard. The Constitution requires 'probable cause' but you can forget about that in Bush's dictatorship. As Bush himself put it: “Stop throwing up the Constitution to me. It's just a Goddamned piece of paper” [See: A Goddamned Piece of Paper!]

Secret printer ID codes may breach EU privacy laws

Published Friday 15th February 2008 22:14 GMT

A little-noticed system that allows printed documents to be tracked by government agents has gotten the attention of the EU Commissioner for Justice Freedom and Security, who says the technology may violate EU human rights guarantees.

The technology is baked in to many popular color laser printers and photocopiers, including those made by Brother, Cannon, Xerox and HP, according to this list compiled by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. It embeds almost invisible tracking dots onto documents that uniquely identify the machine that printed them.

Five Easy Steps To Create A Manchurian Candidate

THESIS:

An armed America

ANTITHESIS:

Horrific violence and mass murders committed by people with guns

SYNTHESIS:

Draconian antigun laws which disarm America

The CIA’s version of Hegel’s Dialectic omits the Thesis, their version starts with the antithesis:

Crisis Creation replaces Antithesis:

Horrific violence and mass murders committed by people with guns, who were either programmed or in the employee of the CIA or other government agencies

Crisis Solution replaces Synthesis:

Draconian gun laws which take the guns away from everyone, including law abiding citizens.

Crisis Control Becomes the New Thesis

In the case of gun violence, the new thesis will resemble a police state, where only the government will have guns

To further illustrate the point. America is a nation full of guns and guaranteed the right to own and bear arms, by the Constitution of the United States.

America cannot be taken over by the New World Order and their socialist/communist agenda, if Americans are armed, (this is the Thesis, an armed citizenry), therefore conditions must be created that will cause the American public to demand that their Constitutional right to bear arms be rescinded.

These created conditions are called "The Antithesis" by Hegel; it is called Crisis Creation by the CIA. In the case of an armed citizenry, the antithesis, or anti-thesis, is random, senseless and horrific murders using guns as the weapon.

When these two conditions, i.e.; an armed citizenry and horrific gun violence, exist simultaneously, public hysteria can be whipped up making the public demand that their Congressional representatives outlaw all guns. This is called "The Synthesis" by Hegel; or Crisis Solution by the CIA..

The "synthesis" then becomes the new "Thesis" for a new triad in Hegel’s Dialectic. In the CIA’s version of Hegel’s Dialectic, the synthesis i.e.; the Crisis Solution brings about the new Thesis which is called: Crisis Control.

When Hitler wanted to wipe Jewish DNA from all of Europe, he created similar "antithesis" conditions which allowed the passage of similar anti gun laws. If all Jews in Germany had been armed, how easy would it have been for Hitler to send them to concentration camps? An armed citizenry can protect itself from its government.

Hitler’s plan to eliminate all gun from German citizens was so successful that Connecticut Senator Thomas J. Dodd, father of today’s Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, used Hitler’s model to frame the Gun Control Act of 1968. (More information at end of article.)

Our Enemy, The Presidency

by Anthony Gregory

Every year in mid-February, tens of millions of Americans take the Monday off in celebration of the presidency. And while the average civics teacher will tell you that we do not appreciate our national political heritage nearly enough, the typical American is not only too respectful of the presidency on this day; he is far too enamored of the institution all year round.

The president of the United States has far more power than any office in the history of humanity. It is trite even to make the comparison. The current president claims the right to detain, torture and kill anyone on earth and to start wars and occupations in any nation of his choice. He claims the right to levy taxes on anything, prohibit anything, mandate anything, spy on anyone, and demand that all jurisdictions on the planet bend to his will. While the laws of economics limit his actual power to alter reality, the pure destructive potential of the modern presidency is beyond unspeakable. Nuclear holocaust, prospectively amounting to the greatest atrocity ever, is generally within his reach.

No matter who is president, it ends up costing many people their lives. Practically all US presidents go to war and kill foreigners. Even the best modern presidents, like Warren G. Harding, violated the Bill of Rights and acted at times like a despot. Even the great Grover Cleveland gave America an income tax, the Interstate Commerce Commission, and some questionable precedents in foreign diplomacy and federal police powers. He was arguably the best. Another fairly decent one was Martin Van Buren, but his conduct on the Trail of Tears is unforgivable. The revered Jefferson administration was in many ways a big mess.

This is the best it gets. The worst presidents, for their part, rank among the greatest political criminals in world history. (And these tend to be the ones we're supposed to admire most.)

Most Americans want to keep the modern presidency, even as they argue passionately over which would-be tyrant should fill the spot. The differences between candidates are seldom significant and every year the major choices become worse.
Sure, someone with Ron Paul’s rare principle and dedication could do great things as president, but only so long as public opinion supported retrenchment of the state. MORE HERE

"When we become believers, it's as if we have signed up to be part of God's Army, to be soldiers for Christ." -- Mike Huckabee, Jan 6, 2008

Besides telling us how to live, think, marry, pray, vote, invest, educate our children and, die, the GOP has done a fine job of getting gov't out of our lives.

Worst product ever: The Easy Reader (Book Holder)

A book holder! For your steering wheel! So you can multi-task while on the road. The amazing thing about this product is how many hurdles it must have had to surmount to not only be manufactured, but to end up on Amazon! However, you will notice that spamozone has removed the product and the links are now dead.

Worst product ever: The Easy Reader (Book Holder)

How did this shiz make Stoopidit past health and safety guidelines?

The Amazon.com reviewers have said it best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, February 13, 2008

This product far exceeds my expectations. I was not only able to read a book while driving, but with my free hands I was able to talk on my cell phone, while also sipping on my latte! For some reason, everyone keeps honking at me and flipping me off, but it doesn't matter, because I am too engrossed in my reading to care. I hope this comes back into stock, my 16 year old cousin could really use one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, February 13, 2008

I bought this item 6 months ago and its great. I can read while driving and best of all, I can move it to a new car everytime i crash my current one. So far, I've gone through 5 cars in 6 months, and this thing attaches to every steering wheel. My insurance company is threatening to drop me, but without this item, I simply wouldn't be able to fill out my insurance form while driving. Too bad about the small type on their contracts, tho. Now I'll need a 6th car!

See! Sarcasm is funny.

Illinois school shooting leaves 6 dead, 16 wounded

The gun-grabbers will blame the guns, insist on more gun-free zones, forgetting that this campus was already a "gun free zone", which is why nobody had the means to defend themselves, and the police, as always, arrived after the killing was all over.

The perpetrator, we are told, had no prior criminal record or past history of mental illness, and just decided for the heck of it to walk into a lecture hall and open fire on everyone. How wonderfully convenient for the gun-grabbers who have been losing ground as study after study shows that neighborhoods where people are armed have lower crimes rates.

These people are working to put a ballot initiative on the November ballot to force a new investigation into 9-11.

I admire the effort, but frankly, a new investigation means a new cover-up, because the government will never, EVER, admit what they did; they would rather shoot us all first. And to be honest, I do not NEED a new investigation. I know what happened, and I don't need the government to tell me my conclusions are the correct ones.

There are a lot of great freeware products out there. Many are as good as or better than their commercial alternatives. This list features our pick of the "best of the best."

Bush wants limits on access to evidence
The Bush administration asked the Supreme Court on Thursday to limit judges authority to scrutinize evidence against detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit initially ruled on the case in July. The full court refused in early February, in a 5-5 split, to reconsider that ruling. It takes a majority of the court to reconsider a panel decision.

The ruling held that, when Guantanamo Bay detainees challenge their status as "enemy combatants," judges must review all the evidence, not just the evidence the military chooses.

The administration said the decision jeopardizes national security.

Being an innocent bystander, a model citizen, a Rotarian is not enough to keep you safe from rogue cops, tin-horn sheriffs, or other so-called law enforcement personnel. Who let these dogs out? Who uncorked this evil genie? What Nazi mentality makes a lethal enemy of those who had been sworn to "protect and serve" us?

Police make a violent entry into a couple’s home to execute a search warrant on their son. The son, who was suspected of rape, was already in police custody.

So why the forced entry?

In the process, they used a Taser on the suspect’s father, because he apparently was “cursing and carrying a fly swatter.” A fly swatter is enough now for a Taserin’. They then arrested the man they tasered for “obstructing an officer.”

10 Ways YOU Can Fight Fascism Around the World
LINK

This is the best guide I can offer for proactive, prolonged, independent and effective resistance against the overwhelming direction towards greater warfare, poverty, and fascist control we see around the world in 2007.

I was asked by a weirdo I have a lot of respect for to write on this specific subject. I want this article to be as useful as possible, so I’m just going to lay things on the table as quickly and as clearly as I can.

Let’s begin by shaking off bad language—we tend to discuss politics using old metaphors, which are useless today and actually make understanding the problem more difficult. There is no Left and Right, there is no “inside the system” because none of us are “outside” of it, there is no change “from the bottom up” because there is no “top” to bring the change to.

We find ourselves up against an entrenched power structure composed of a relatively very small group of wealthy elites. They seldom rule directly or even visibly, and maintain their power through building huge armed bureacracies who enforce power for them. The global power structure is a decentralized, constantly shifting network of organized crime and national control systems, representing many different races, nationalities, religious dogmas and cultures.

However, there are common threads in all systems of social control: They do not have a sense of humor, they are bitterly opposed to Art, and they are unable to handle bizarre and confusing situations. These systems are built upon enforcing conformity, turning nature into consumer goods, and controlling information. These systems require enemies and they create criminals.

Because of these common threads, these systems all have common weakness that we have the power to exploit to incredible effect. If you take nothing else away from this, please remember: you are exponentially more powerful than you think you are.

The simplest summation of the overall strategy I propose is this:

1. Destabilize Existing Structure

2. Minimize Destructive Backlash

3. Establish Robust Communication

To this end, I propose 10 steps which form a conceptual toolkit. Perhaps that’s a euphemism for “disorganized pile of shit,” but I feel strongly that these are all relevant and useful:

1. Practice is repetition is preparation is power.

Can you win a fight? Can you control a situation enough to escape? Can you outrun police? I’m not saying you need to be able to knock someone out like Brad Pitt, but I am saying self-defense is a core life skill. Without it, you’re not effective. I recommend Aikido and Tai Chi to all living humans, unconditionally.

Establish meaningful and beneficial routines. Our culture is a constant pulse of imposed rhythms and rituals that we need to actively fight against to maintain clarity and effectiveness. Learning any skill set is amazingly simple: learn about it, then try it out until you get it. That iron-clad formula will guide you through anything, from juggling to fellatio to meditation.

2. Create situations that cannot be controlled.

I don’t propose that because it’s punk rock, but because I believe it’s a solid strategy. Ideally, in any confrontation, you want control of the situation. However, we’re talking about us, you and me as individuals, taking on the global power structure of Earth in 2007 for control of our planet. We are not in control of the situation, it is dumb to assume we could be. So go for the next best thing—be totally unpredictable, escalate chaos and noise, and create a situation that nobody could possibly control.

This is basically an unspoken bet with your opponent: “I am giving up control of this situation because I am faster, smarter and stronger than you.” Embrace chaos and leverage chaos, because what cannot be predicted cannot be controlled. Only a lawyer would pretend otherwise.

3. Do not allow yourself to be controlled by situations.

What do you do if someone puts a loaded gun in your face? Sure, that’s a heavy situation, but do you panic? I propose you remain calm and ask the human with the gun what they want. There is never any reason to panic. Self-assembling nanotech hunter-destroyer clusters swarming thousands of feet high, raining down human blood and internal organs, is still not a valid reason to panic. Panic is helpless idiot fear. In high stakes situations, you need to be calm and focused.

Horrible and amazing things will happen in the next five years, but you’re going to survive and maintain, just like humans always do. You yourself should make peace with death. I mean that honestly, not being sarcastic or macabre—it’s important for psychological health to keep your death in perspective. Avoiding it always leads to complications, and as I will discuss later, denial of death has been shown to make people more suggestible, afraid, and prone to violence.

4. Seek information, avoid arguments.

The only person responsible for getting you trustworthy information is you. This involves a great deal of work. Am I seriously advocating that you spend hours a day just sitting around learning stuff? Absolutely yes, I am. The wonderful Jennifer Bowen introduced me to the phrase “good company is kept discussing good ideas—not people.”

The internet is insanely effective for rapidly accessing high volumes of high quality information. It’s also a great way to spend four hours checking your email, watching porn, or getting into pointless arguments with total strangers. We all have egos, we all get pissed off occasionally, but don’t do that online: get up immediately and use that anger to lift some free weights.

5. Seek predictive models, avoid explanatory models.

I propose that it’s more important to have a general sense of what’s coming up next, than to have a precise picture of what’s going on now. The global power structure is not a monolithic, static object: it is constantly shifting, and while we focus on one tentacle, seven more will be taking advantage of our ignorance. An accurate history of this power structure is far less valuable than knowing how they operate, and what their assumptions are.

Remember, we’re living on the same planet. No amount of secret insider knowledge will spare you the consequences of catastrophic storms, toxic pollution, solar and lunar cycles, space weather radiation, etc. The global power structure has to respond and adapt to the world it claims to control, use the cycles of nature against them.

This is a massive source of power that few activists seem to be aware of: for the past three centuries, governments, militaries and corporations have been waging a very literal War Against Nature, attempting to control what they cannot understand. Recent documents like the UK Ministry of Defense report “Global Trends 2007-2036” make it clear that those in power cannot predict the short-term consequences of worldwide toxic pollution. They are scrambling to prepare for a future crisis they cannot plan for. You can, though.

6. Become an autonomous cell.

Do you realize that most of what “intelligence analysts” do is just read through publicly available media and look for patterns? Are you familiar with the concept, technique and theory behind “asymmetric warfare?” What do you think military analysts mean when they predict a future of “constant low-intensity urban conflict?” Is it signifigant that the US government has a long track record of inflitrating, subverting and murdering counter-culture icons and revolutionary leaders?

As Peter J. Carroll observed in Psybermagick: “In practice the power of any conspiracy rises and falls in inverse proportion to the power of its internal conspiracies. Mutual guilt and bribery mainly hold together conspiracies whose ideologies command insufficient loyalty, but this makes them vulnerable.” Take advantage of your opponents paranoia, use their need for control against them.

Autonomy also implies economic freedom, good health, and secure access to food. Shelter can of course be communal and improvised—in many climates, shelter is barely nescessary most of the year. Although I’m essentially advocating that we take the Army recruiting slogan, “an army of one,” further than they themselves ever will, I’m not avocating turning your back on anyone. I’m advocating that you work for your community, independently and perhaps invisibly.

7. Don’t be a dickhead, and love thy neighbor.

It’s the only rational approach to life: do your best to be nice. By doing so, you make life easier for those around you, you reduce physical stress that wears on your own body, and you will often find yourself reaping rewards at random. Some people call this “karma,” other folks call this “emergent properties of complex networks.”

Be nice to your neighbors. Help them out for no reason, refuse to accept money for doing so. Partly because real charity is subversive these days. Also, in 2007, you do not want the cops called on you, period. You truly do the world a favor when you purge yourself of terms like “sheeple” and “the herd”—I’ve also learned, through hilarious personal experience, that referring to taxpaying citizens as “slaves” will never work out for you.

There is nothing wrong with being selfish, only being dumb. Dumb selfish people look for simple self-benefit, smart selfish people look for open-ended, mutually beneficial situations. If you can improve your community, you have also improved your personal power base and your chances for long-term success. That’s not “public service,” just science, math and common sense.

8. Invest in tools and share them subversively.

The old Industrial Revolution plan for social control was simple. Wealthy families owned all the “capital goods”—the machines and factories that make consumer goods. So they used that power to hire poor people to work for them, in exchange for being able to purchase some of the “consumer goods” they themselves made. Things have changed a lot in 2007, because the line between capital and consumer goods has blurred almost completely. You can launch a record label with about $5000 and be pressing your own CDs, for instance.

Technology is magick. I think that’s become clear enough to just leave that as a statement. We now have the tools for invisibility, weather control, human cloning and burning entire cities to the ground with a single missile. We will soon have the tools for universal translation, undoing one of Jehovah’s major curses as chronicled in Genesis 11. It’s vitally important that us fringe weirdos get ahold of all these amazing future toys before they get turned into future weapons against us.

Sharing is subversive. Communal access to important tools is subversive. Growth is a sign of a healthy economy, profit is a sign of a sick one. Break the profit cycle everywhere you can. Nobody will go pay for a service or tool when they can use an equally good one locally, for free. You would be amazed how low overhead can be when maintenance is your only expense. You would be amazed how well you can maintain tools and facilities if you’re willing to put in work.

9. Become a Beacon of Insane Hope

Yeah, perhaps I’m reaching with this one, but I mean it emphatically. There is no shortage of people telling me how fucked I am, but I’ve spent the better part of a year tracking down people who are talking about solutions, comparing technique, and putting in work towards something better. I want to talk to people about seed bombs, quantum microdots, urban farming, water purification, anything that can improve reality, here and now.

There’s strong evidence that fear and anger are actively used as tools of manipulation and social control: the White House spent $1.6 billion dollars in 2006 on “public relations.” This is a signal that needs to be counteracted, becacause based on psychology experiments, evoking the concept of death alters human perception. People become more dogmatic, nationalist and likely to support violence. This is based on the research of Sheldon Solomon, Jeff Greenberg, and Tom Pyszczynski, and you can find more information searching for the phrase “Terror Management Theory.”

I am not advocating violence to any extent. Perhaps this is the strangest concept in my toolbag, but for what it’s worth: violence is actually not your weapon. Sure, you can throw rocks at cops, shoot cops, and blow up police stations, but you’re actually not accomplishing anything. In fact, you’re doing Their Job for them, which is why undercover police officers around the world try to start riots at peaceful protests. Violence is not a weapon we can control, so it’s not a weapon we should use, either.

10. Please, be fearless.

The stakes are beautifully high, the enemy is unbelievably strong, the fight looks completely hopeless. It’s too perfect, it’s ridiculous. How can we be bored on a planet as deliciously dangerous and insane as Earth? I can only conclude that my entire generation is living inside an open-ended video game that we’ve been training for since birth without even realizing it.

So keep pushing, stay calm, eat healthy, seek novelty, breathe deeply, take risks, think slowly, move quickly, speak clearly, fight dirty, dream crazy and please, be fearless.

FBI Deputizes Business TO SHOOT TO KILL!!!

Exclusive! The FBI Deputizes Business

By Matthew Rothschild,
February 7, 2008

Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does—and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to “shoot to kill” in the event of martial law.

InfraGard is “a child of the FBI,” says Michael Hershman, the chairman of the advisory board of the InfraGard National Members Alliance and CEO of the Fairfax Group, an international consulting firm.

InfraGard started in Cleveland back in 1996, when the private sector there cooperated with the FBI to investigate cyber threats.

“Then the FBI cloned it,” says Phyllis Schneck, chairman of the board of directors of the InfraGard National Members Alliance, and the prime mover behind the growth of InfraGard over the last several years.

InfraGard itself is still an FBI operation, with FBI agents in each state overseeing the local InfraGard chapters. (There are now eighty-six of them.) The alliance is a nonprofit organization of private sector InfraGard members.

“We are the owners, operators, and experts of our critical infrastructure, from the CEO of a large company in agriculture or high finance to the guy who turns the valve at the water utility,” says Schneck, who by day is the vice president of research integration at Secure Computing.

A Revolutionary Train of Thought

from a Marine:

This is long.. but every word is from the heart.

I've spent the last 25 years of my life waiting for things to change for the better. They have not. In fact, things have only become worse. You all know exactly where I'm coming from.

Year by year, the American people are picked apart, lied to, robbed, enslaved and have had their Constitutional rights systematically stolen.

I'm a U.S. Marine. I've been saying for over two decades that a revolution is coming - and I didn't mean the one we have here. I mean a bloody one. A revolution where my fellow Americans finally reach the melting point, when former and currently active military join together to take the country back by force. Where the common citizen is finally asked, "Will you take up arms to regain your rights?".

Now I see differently. In the past months I have been given an entirely different outlook on the future. I see my fellow citizens, people with or without military backgrounds or affiliations to compel them to do so, joining the ranks of this freedom revolution.

As a person with a military background, if I look at this logistically there is no way to beat it. Armies need commanders, soldiers need orders, troops need training and supplies. But more importantly, in a time of conflict, those soldiers need a target to hit.

This revolution has to be the worst fear of anyone who would think to oppose it. It has no 'leaders'. It has no tactical disadvantages to exploit. You cant point a gun at an idea. You can"t put crosshairs on principles. This revolution can continue gaining momentum and influence, members and followers, attention and coverage without a 'voice' to do it with.

I'm reminded of the masked faces in 'V', standing together outside parliment (ok, it's a movie, but it fits here). None of those people spoke a single word. They had no faces. They had no speaches. They had no 'disobedient nature' about them at all. Yet anyone who watched that movie knew exactly what they were saying - and could almost feel the influence of that group in the air.

Yes, that was fictional, but the 'feeling' provided by that scene is the same thing I get when I work toward the same goals that all of you are working toward - freedom and liberty the way it SHOULD be.

You cannot put a gag on the truth. You can try, and if those attempting to spread that truth are few, you may succeed. But when you've got millions already, and numbers growing by the tens of thousands on a continual basis, it is no longer possible.

An author once wrote; "There is no such thing as art, because art is mankind's attempt at holding a mirror up to either nature or imagination - and there isn't a mirror big enough to do that". In that same context - there is no 'gag' big enough.

The mirror, in our case, is the shroud of doubt that the powers that be, mainstream media and naysayers would try to cover us with. It is the veil of propoganda and disgregard that is draped across the televisions, newspapers, magazines and airwaves of the world, used to keep the population from hearing the message.

But the message is quickly becoming to vast, too loud, too obvious and too thought provoking for these would-be oppressors to contain any longer. The power of the truth, the power of right, and the power of true patriotism are far greater than any amount of money, bandwidth, propoganda or wool pulled over the eyes of those who could see.

This revolution has gone from being considered a 'side show of weirdos', to an 'internet following', to a 'group of citizens', to a 'nationwide freedom revolution' in a shorter time than I think even those who stand in opposition to it ever dreamed. It has demonstrated the will, ambition, determination, spirit, and unwaivering loyalty that many politicians and corporations could only dream of obtaining from those who would 'follow' them.

Support Nancy Grant - Unjustly Sentenced for Unlicensed Practice of Law

Sept 2007 AVNetnews - Nancy Grant was sentenced for 28 counts of third degree felony unlicensed practice of law. She was given approximately a $33,000 fine and 15 years probation. The legal community and constitution watchers such as Jail for Judges, which Nancy is Florida's Jail for Judges chief Jailer are abhorred by such legal actions, since Nancy has been actively seeking relief for throw aways in our legal system.

DESOTO COUNTY BUDGET SHORTFALLFOR $33,841.00:

-Florida Dept of Financial services audited the DeSoto County Court Clerk and reached the following decision June 2007, several months before Nancy was arrested for UPL: see page 4 of http://www.flccoc.org/DFSReviews/DesotoDFSBudgetReview060607.pdf or download the full document:

"Finding:

Based upon our review, we found the Clerk’s budgeting practices and expendituremethodologies for State funds to be efficient and accurate. Also, we concluded the Desoto County Clerk’s Office is currently able to report on all required performance standards. However, we noted that during FY 05-06, the Desoto County Clerk’s Office is not compliant with the surplus remittance directives described in Section 28.37(2), F.S.
