Freedom Shenanigan #31 - Fun With Speed Cams

Freedom Shenanigan #31
Fun With Speed Cameras

Looks like some American teens DO have the gonads that the Aussies do. (Foreign Freedom Shenanigans) Ok boys and girls, today our lesson is again one of our first principles. Find out what makes them upset and DO MORE of it with Gusto! (See Freedom Shenanigan #4 )
Just think of what ALL the variations of this could be. Bad neighbors, an ex, bad boss, bad poLice, the mayor or other politicians, the list goes on and on. However, for this to be truly a "Freedom Shenanigan" it must be to hamper authoritarian statist control and invigorate freedom sympathies. If they want revenue from these things then give them revenue. Just make sure that it is the system and its overlords catching themselves and their families in these speed traps. Have fun and be careful out there!

Local teens claim pranks on county's Speed Cams

By Joe Slaninka

Special to the Sentinel

As a prank, students from local high schools have been taking advantage of the county's Speed Camera Program in order to exact revenge on people who they believe have wronged them in the past, including other students and even teachers.

Students from Richard Montgomery High School dubbed the prank the Speed Camera "Pimping" game, according to a parent of a student enrolled at one of the high schools.

Originating from Wootton High School, the parent said, students duplicate the license plates by printing plate numbers on glossy photo paper, using fonts from certain websites that "mimic" those on Maryland license plates. They tape the duplicate plate over the existing plate on the back of their car and purposefully speed through a speed camera, the parent said. The victim then receives a citation in the mail days later.

Students are even obtaining vehicles from their friends that are similar or identical to the make and model of the car owned by the targeted victim, according to the parent.

"This game is very disturbing," the parent said. "Especially since unsuspecting parents will also be victimized through receipt of unwarranted photo speed tickets.

The parent said that "our civil rights are exploited," and the entire premise behind the Speed Camera Program is called into question as a result of the growing this fad among students.

The Speed Camera Program was implemented in March of this year and used for the purpose of reducing traffic and pedestrian collisions in the county. Cameras are located in residential areas and school zones where the posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour or lower. A $40 citation is mailed to the owner of the car for violating the speed limit in these areas.

The Montgomery County Police said they have not seen or heard of this prank occurring but said they will keep an eye out for people committing the crime.

"I hope the public at large will complain loudly enough that local Montgomery County government officials will change their policy of using these cameras for monetary gain," the parent said. "The practice of sending speeding tickets to faceless recipients without any type of verification is unwarranted and an exploitation of our rights."

Edward Owusu, Assistant Principal at Wootton High School, said that he heard of local students pulling the prank when the school received a call from a parent informing them of its occurrence. "I have not heard of this happening among students at Wootton," Osuwu said. "It is unfortunate that kids have a lot of time on their hands that they can think of doing such a thing."

Montgomery County Council President Phil Andrews said that the issue is troubling in several respects. "I am concerned that someone could get hurt, first of all, because they are speeding in areas where they know speeding is a problem," he said.

Andrews also said that this could hurt the integrity of the Speed Camera Program. "It will cause potential problems for the Speed Camera Program in terms of the confidence in it," he said. (Ed.- "Oh Boo frakin Hoo!")

He said he is glad someone caught it before it becomes more widespread and he said he hopes that the word get out to the people participating in this that there will be consequences.

(Ed.- "Yeah, like all the statist system lords and their families are bitchin about that these tickets are not fair along with the other "innocent" people complaining that it is not their cars being photographed and "It will cause potential problems for the Speed Camera Program in terms of the confidence in it," so that they will then have to spend more money in this economic downturn to upgrade the systems to catch faces as well and then what if someone wears a mask ? Oh no! Where will it end? MMmmbbwwhaahaha!")

How to protect yourself from martial law

From my favorite individualist feminist Wendy McElroy comes this timely advice.

by Wendy McElroy
Tuesday 16 December 2008
http://www.wendymcelroy.com/news.php?extend.2148

What would you do if martial law were declared in the United States? After all, martial law is not a new concept nor a new reality to America. It was declared in 1794 during the Whiskey Rebellion, in 1882 during the Civil War, in Hawaii during World War II, and in NYC after 9/11. Many analysts have commented on how the Bush administration has paved the way for Presidents to declare martial law in the future. .
IntelDaily stated,

In October 2006, Bush signed into law the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007. Quietly slipped into the law at the last minute, at the request of the Bush administration, were sections changing important legal principles, dating back 200 years, which limit the U.S. government's ability to use the military to intervene in domestic affairs. These changes would allow Bush, whenever he thinks it necessary, to institute martial law--under which the military takes direct control over civilian administration.

If martial law is declared, your civil rights will no longer be recognized by the authorities; basic rights -- such as due process -- will no longer exist. How can you protect yourself...right now and afterward?

[Note: I am indebted to Jarret B. Wollsteins' "Surviving Terrorism" for the following suggestions upon which I have expanded; I highly recommend his book for your shelf.]

1. Seek out reliable alternative sources of news. The mainstream media will be worse than useless in giving you a sense of what is really happening politically. Without such a sense, you will not be able to make an educated guess about what is likely to happen next.

2. Avoid high-surveillance areas with a high police/military presence like airports or checkpoints. The authorities are there in strength to ferret out wrong-doers. If you make a bad joke, show up in a database or just seem too nervous, then you can be detained, questioned and/or arrested. Remember: there will be no due process.

3. Do not visit controversial sites on the Internet. Do not buy controversial books or material with a credit card. Do not check them out of a library. Do not read them in public places. Do not discuss them in casual conversations or ones that are likely to be overheard. Do not wear T-shirts with political slogans or controversial sentiments.

4. Be careful about the information you disclose to anyone in a position of power (e.g. your doctor) or to strangers. Indeed, be careful with anyone whose decency and discretion you do not trust. Remember that even your doctor may have a legal obligation to 'turn you in' should you confess to 'crimes', such considering suicide or owning a gun. Train your children to show a similar discretion and to never discuss what goes on in your home, especially with strangers or authority figures like their public school teachers. Make sure your partner understands and agrees with you about the need for privacy.

5. If you can, find 'authorities' you can trust, especially a lawyer.

6. Encrypt sensitive and/or valuable computer files and keep a back-up copy off-site -- that is, somewhere other than your home or office. Don't keep a record of where the back-ups are secured.

7. Own a gun and keep a healthy supply of cash on hand. Tell no one.

8. Support organizations and people who are fighting openly to push society in the opposition direction from martial law. It may not be appropriate for you to take that risk but do encourage those who are.

Flying Shoes, Bursting Bubbles...

or, "a pot calling a kettle black?"
More on this story and related activities. Thanks to Dr. Dan who forwarded this story to me. What a great guy this Judge Sanders is as "judges" go. Actually, it is ironic considering what he does for a living, but, I digress.
I am always amazed but not surprised at the sycophantic censorship that the supposed independent news media engages in. It is not that they didn't report on it, they did here, but how they did. Internet? Yes. National news TV? No. I never read or heard a hint, nuance or whisper about this. On the other hand, I might have missed it. What we did hear
was about Mukasey's collapse at his address at the Federalist Society . Which I had hoped was more serious than it turned out to be. Too bad someone in the crowd didn't have the presence of mind to shout out “Sic semper tyrannis!” Wm. Grigg gives us the "rest of the story."

Rebellion deeply embedded in Greece

Look at the difference between the American sheeple and the Greeks. ONE teenage boy killed and this happens. Here in "the land of the free" all one could expect is a polite protest, a slap on the wrist of the killer porcine and things would go back to, "I said shut up, turn off your camera, walk away, don't ask me anything, YOU ARE UNDER ARREST, BANG - ZZZZZZZZZZAP!!!"

Things WILL NOT CHANGE until the injuring porcine's behavior is returned to him.

The BBC's Malcolm Brabant looks at why student anger has erupted across Greece over Saturday's fatal police shooting of a teenage boy.

A youth clashes with riot police in Athens on 7 December 2008
Young people have been clashing with police in cities across Greece

The riots that have swept Greece for the past two days and look set to continue for the foreseeable future underline why the most important day in the national calendar is "Oxi" or "No" day.

"Oxi" day commemorates 28 October 1940, when Greek leader Ioannis Metaxas used that single word to reply to Mussolini's ultimatum to allow Italy to invade Greece, propelling his nation into World War II.

When Greeks say no, they mean it in spades.

Rebellion is deeply embedded in the Greek psyche. The students and school children who are now laying siege to police stations and trying to bring down the government are undergoing a rite of passage.

They may be the iPod generation, but they are the inheritors of a tradition that goes back centuries, when nuns would rather hurl themselves to death from mountain convents than submit to the ravages of Greece's Turkish Ottoman invaders.

'Springboards for violence'

The centre for this December rebellion is the Athens Polytechnic, where students have been out on the streets with wheelbarrows and shopping trolleys to collect and recycle rocks and pieces of marble used in the previous night's assaults.

A fire bomb burns next to riot police in Thessaloniki on 7 December 2008
The violence began in Athens and then spread to Thessaloniki

The polytechnic is the symbol of modern rebellion.

On 17 November 1973, tanks of the then six-year-old military dictatorship burst through the iron railings to suppress a student uprising against the colonels.

The exact casualty figure is still unknown to this day but it is believed that around 40 people were killed.

The sacrifice of the polytechnic was so significant that the post-junta architects of Greece's new constitution drafted the right of asylum, which bans the authorities from entering the grounds of schools and universities.

That is why places of learning are the springboards for the current wave of violence and it also explains why many of the riots are in university towns.

Students and pupils have effectively been given carte blanche to carry on protesting, because their professors have declared a three-day strike.

'Out of control'

Although many of today's protestors were not born when the polytechnic gates were crushed by the tanks, the lesson of the students' martyrdom is a key component of every Greek child's school democracy curriculum.

If Greece had already appeared difficult to govern, it will now will be out of control
Nikos Konstandaras, managing
editor of Kathimerini newspaper

The latent Greek contempt for the police, which has now erupted so volcanically, has its roots in the dictatorship, when the police were regarded as the colonels' enforcers and traitors to the people.

The death of 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos at the hands of an experienced 37-year-old policeman has precipitated a wave of nationwide violence unseen since the dictatorship.

Whether it will lead to the fall of the unpopular conservative government of Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis is unclear.

It is premature to see the troubles as Greece's reprise of the Paris uprising of 1968.

One of the wisest observations has come from Nikos Konstandaras, the managing editor of Kathimerini, one of Greece's more sober and respected newspapers.

In an editorial entitled "Anger's teen martyr", Mr Konstandaras wrote that Mr Grioropoulos' blood would be "used to bind together every disparate protest and complaint into a platform of righteous rage against all the ills of our society.

"It will quickly become a flag of convenience for anyone who has a grudge against the state, the government, the economic system, foreign powers, capitalism and so on."

"If Greece had already appeared difficult to govern, it will now be out of control."

John Coleman and scientists sue Al Gore.

Really, no comment is needed beyond this; Just remember, to follow the money and ask who stands to benefit from anything FedGov is involved with because it won't be "the people" but rather a special interest minority.

KUSI-TV Weatherman John Coleman was he founder of the Weather Channel and has been involved in all things meteorological since an early age. He currently leads 30,000 Scientists in a lawsuit charging Al Gore with fraud in the Global Warming Scam. Also supporting the Scientists are 9000 PHD researchers.

More Crooked Porcines!

This is just ANOTHER example of why poLice are actually the criminals. We don't need cops! Cops are just bullies with badges. It is time that cops who injure are injured back by those who will stand for those who can't stand for themselves. You got to love this guy and his large gonads!

It's called an informant plant. The Odessa narcotics unit illegally compelled an informant to plant drugs on Yolanda Madden. The informant testified in federal court he planted the drugs on her and he passed a polygraph confirming the same. Yolanda also passed a polygraph along with a hair follicle and urine test. Our broken criminal justice system ignored the evidence and railroaded her through court sentencing her to 8 years in prison.

Her father hired KopBusters, a new reality show produced by NeverGetBusted, whereby Barry and Candi along with their detectives set up stings across America to catch crooked Kops.

To clarify just a bit, according to Cooper, there was nothing illegal going on the bait house, just two evergreen trees and some grow lamps. There was no probable cause. So a couple of questions come up. First, how did the cops get turned on to the house in the first place? Cooper suspects they were using thermal imaging equipment to detect the grow lamps, a practice the Supreme Court has said is illegal. The second question is, what probable cause did the police put on the affidavit to get a judge to sign off on a search warrant? If there was nothing illegal going on in the house, it’s difficult to conceive of a scenario where either the police or one of their informants didn’t lie to get a warrant.

KopBusters rented a house in Odessa, Texas and began growing two small Christmas trees under a grow light similar to those used for growing marijuana. When faced with a suspected marijuana grow, the police usually use illegal FLIR cameras and/or lie on the search warrant affidavit claiming they have probable cause to raid the house. Instead of conducting a proper investigation which usually leads to no probable cause, the Kops lie on the affidavit claiming a confidential informant saw the plants and/or the police could smell marijuana coming from the suspected house.

The trap was set and less than 24 hours later, the Odessa narcotics unit raided the house only to find KopBuster's attorney waiting under a system of complex gadgetry and spy cameras that streamed online to the KopBuster's secret mobile office nearby.

The attorney was handcuffed and later released when eleven KopBuster detectives arrived with the media in tow to question the illegal raid. The police refused to give KopBusters the search warrant affidavit which is suspected to contain the lies regarding the probable cause.

The team of eleven freedom fighters wore red "Free Yolanda" shirts as they clashed with the police demanding answers for the illegal raid and the drug plant. The police would not comment but later stated they were trying to charge KopBusters with a crime.

It is not illegal to grow plants under a light in your home but it is illegal to lie on an affidavit and plant drugs on a citizen. This operation was the first of its kind in the history of America. Police sometimes have other police investigating their crimes but the American court system has never dealt with a group of citizens stinging the police. Will the police file charges on the team who took down the corrupt cops? We will keep you posted.

The story’s worth watching, not only to see if the cops themselves are held accountable for this, but whether the local district attorney tries to come up with a crime with which to charge Cooper and his assistants.

Gun Maker Uses Murderer to Market its Rifles

by Ken Rineer
purest1 -+at+- COX.NET

Special to The Libertarian Enterprise

The National Association of Gun Rights, various state organizations and Gun Owners of Arizona feel it is necessary to inform you of the following:

As you may have already heard, HS Precision Rifles, a South Dakota gun maker, has been marketing their wares using the endorsement of a hired murderer.

As bizarre and demented as it sounds, the HS company has a "testimonial" about their products on the back of their catalog from none other than Lon Horiuchi.

Although they have a civilian market, they clearly are willing to throw civilian gun owners under the bus to get a little government business.

Most gun owners remember Lon T. Horiuchi. But for those who do not, here is a little background:

Horiuchi is the former FBI sniper who shot and killed Vicky Weaver while she was standing on the front porch of her cabin during the notorious "Ruby Ridge" standoff. Vicky was holding her infant daughter at the moment Horiuchi fired a rifle bullet that crashed through her skull, killing her.

The State of Idaho attempted to prosecute Horiuchi; however, the United States Solicitor General had the case transferred to Federal District court where it was dismissed. The case then went to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals where Solicitor General Seth Waxman told the judges that it didn't matter whether Vicki Weaver's death was the result of excessive force, that Idaho county could not prosecute Lon T. Horiuchi for "actions taken in pursuit of his duties as a federal law-enforcement officer."

"These federal law-enforcement officials are privileged to do what would otherwise be unlawful if done by a private citizen," Waxman said. "It's a fundamental function of our government." Waxman went further. He said the facts were irrelevant and said federal agents subject to various state laws could "chill" the government's ability even to guard the president.

Ruby Ridge was one of the darkest hours in our nation's history. Before Vicky was gunned down by Horiuchi, her 12 year old son Sam was shot and killed by Federal Marshals. A family friend was also shot, as was Sammy's dad, Randy Weaver. (Larger Catalog Image)

All of these killings were over an accusation that Randy Weaver had shortened the barrel of a shotgun.

Horiuchi also worked as a sniper when the US Government, under orders from President Clinton's Attorney General, Janet Reno, massacred the Branch Davidians in Waco Texas.

Janet Reno's second in command,Eric Holder has just been named as Obama's pick for our new Attorney General.

Let's face it, gun owners are under siege. We have never faced a President who is as openly hostile to gun rights as Obama. So, when "our" people are using government assassins to sell guns to the government, we must take stock. HS Precision is advancing an agenda that says it's ok for government agents to murder people because they are gun owners and all they want is to practice their religion and to be left alone.

HS has so far refused to respond to questions about their outrageous use of a murderer to endorse their products. Now they need to hear from you. HS can be reached here:
